have we ever thought about how, for at least a few weeks after the runaway bride, donna must have regarded every drink handed to her with suspicion? she's suddenly extra vigilant at bars, won't let anyone buy her a pint, refuses to use communal coffee machines. she can't quite bring herself to drink from cans or lidded takeout cups because she can't see what's inside. she probably thinks she's being silly about it. her friends say she's too uptight, she needs to relax! but every time someone passes her a mug or a beer glass or single-use cardboard cup, she can't help but look down at her drink and search for a hint of gold.
