I have been working on a macrame for some time now and have been learning various color themes and patterns. For this project I decided to go with a Native American theme. Specifically of the Taino Native Americans. The Taino are in Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Taino is in my blood so any form of art I can make whether it be a painting or macrame I always try to pay tribute.

Art Project
I have made this painting because this is one of the most important times of my life. After 4 years of trying to have a baby, it is finally happening, and I will soon get to put the due date in this painting and hang it up in the future baby's room.

Connecting Art to The World
My current color scheme is the more natural colors, such as browns creams, whites and earthy pastels. I have been traveling a lot lately and I have valued the time I get to spend with mother nature so much. My happiest place is when I am outside and not within four walls. Nuetral colors giving me a sense of relaxation and bring peace to my mind. When I am having a bad day going out side and taking in the smells of the outside and looking up at the sky gives me so much peace.

Cranes, Figure 4.15 by Ogata Korin. Pg. 12
The background of the art piece looks like an old fabric with hints of gold. The panels are perfectly aligned giving the impression of wall panels. All the birds are drawn almost the same giving the piece repetition and rhythm with the placement of the bird's legs. There is repetition in the color scheme of the birds.

Logos
Group 1- Logos
Nike- Shirt
Hanes- Underwear
Hisense- TV
Puma- Slippers
Dell- Laptop
Shein- Nightgown
Starbucks- Coffee
Logos are designed to show some kind of identification to the work that was done. People recognize logos and they can match what kind if brand it is from the more familiar logos. Logos are usually designed by first sketching what logo you want your brand to have. They are also designed digitally. Logos are important to a brand they identify who did the work. Most logos I know about are the logos I see and recognize every day. It is hard to know small business logos, because they are not as well-known as the big named companies. The value of logos shows that it originated from one thought. The logo is the stmp on a person or persons work. It is different and original.

My beautiful Puerto Rico
This painting wade by my grandmother Judy. This is one of the most important paintings in my home because, my grandmother is no longer able to paint due to her Parkinson's being so bad. This is the last painting she made. It depicts the simple farm life she had growing up in Puerto Rico. Shes uses bright colors just how she remembers it growing up. The painting is beautiful and now hangs in my new home living room. Judy used oil paints which her favorite to use.

Judy Chicago- The Dinner Party
1) The Dinner Party is a monument to women's history and accomplishments. With 39 place setting dedicated to prominent women throughout history and an additional 999 names inscribed in the table's porcelain brick base.
2) The Dinner Party pays tribute to figures such as Ishtar, Hatsheput, Theodora, Sacajawea, Emily Dickenson and so many other amazing women.
3) The Dinner Party was intended to be exhibited in a large darkened, sanctuary like room, with each place setting lit, making it look like 39 alters.
4) The Dinner Party was a testament to the power of feminist vision, artistic collaboration, and a testament for Chicago's ability to create a work of art that took 5 years to make with over 400 people to make it happen.
5) Some of the art resembled female genitalia which sparked so much controversy, like when Chicago attempted to donate the artwork to The University of The District of Colombia, Chicago was forced to withdraw the donation after the U.S Senate threatened to withhold funding from the UDC if they accepted which Rep. Dornan characterized as 3-D ceramic pornography. It was not until 2007 that The Dinner Party an icon feminist art would find a new home in the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
When I first looked at the art piece, I thought it was just a table that was set up for some type of royalty. When i read that it was to pay tribute to all these amazing women in history, I got more interested and wanted to keep reading more about how Judy Chicago accomplished so much and how monumental this art was for women and the appreciation it shows. I would like to see it in person and see all the other names inscribed throughout the art piece.
