Gwynriel × The Little Mermaid

Who else remembers watching The Little Mermaid and being excited seeing Prince Eric's statue in Ariel's cave? Well, that scene has always stuck with me, and I wanted to recreate it for Gwynriel.

Much like Ariel, who longed to be part of the world above the sea, Gwyneth Berdara longs to be free of the library at last and to be part of the world above her once again. She wants to take the road no one dares travel.

Much like Prince Eric, I could see Azriel slowly falling in love with Gwyn as he shows her around Velaris, or maybe as they go on missions together around Prythian 👀 and maybe we even get a little switch up where Gwyn has to save Azriel with her voice and true loves kiss 😘

This commission was done by the absolutely wonderful artist, @alexwillustration. She took my idea and created a beautiful masterpiece!

To end the week, @gwynrieldefenseatty and I wanted to do a heartwarming, tear-jerking moment for Emerie.

Sarah once said she wanted to include more Pegasi in her upcoming book(s), and we both love the idea of Emerie getting the chance to fly again.

Here, we have her dipping her head back and feeling the wind on her face as she flies again for the first time.

Emerie’s future is full of possibilities as she accomplished so much for herself in such a short time. She’s a successful business woman with her shop, winning the Blood Rite, and becoming one of the first Valkyries in more than centuries ago. We have a lot to look forward to as her story is not finish yet.

I wanted to commission a piece showing Elain and Lucien being separated by circumstances, but still tied together by fate. With Lucien stationed at the Spring Court and Elain still staying at the Night Court, I wanted to leave little Easter eggs for both courts.

@jacqueillustrates absolutely killed it. She created these house insignia’s for each court’s bedsheets. The Night Court got the mountain with the stars, and the Spring Court got the roses and thorns. Then in the middle where they meet is tied together with the mate bond.

Thank you so much @jacqueillustrates for creating this extraordinary art! Of course it turned out even more beautiful than I imagined! I’m completely mesmerized by it 💗💗

@nestaarcheronweek | Day 05: Mother

For this prompt, @oristian and I wanted to touch on a scene in the future where Cassian rests and admires his girls. In the far off future, Nesta has accepted that the past is the past and she is not her mother; their daughter allows her the opportunity to grow and to experience motherhood from a completely new perspective.

Nesta and Cassian would most definitely have a small village of daughters—their own little Valkyries! Healing is certainly not linear, but we believe that Nesta would make an exceptional mother; her willingness to grow and develop is a strong indicator.

Azriel sniffing Gwyn’s hair was something I didn’t know I needed to see 🥹😩💙

I LOVE it when artists depict a very clear dynamic between lovers, so much so that I could literally ship that couple without even knowing them. I hope I’ve managed to draw enough of the kind of dynamic I envision for Elucien. It’s not the full scope of what I imagine them to be like, but certainly a chunk of it!

And also… I heard that the people who voice Elain and Lucien both ship Elucien. If that’s true, I‘m gonna scream. You know how the voice actor of Zuko made a fan audio in which Zuko confesses his love for Katara? I need something like this for Elucien 😭

Gwynriel WIP. I might have to change some poses and rearrange them all. It’s just not as good as the Elucien piece and it’s bugging me.

This commission is so deeply close to our hearts. We wanted to show the threads of the mate bond between Elain and Lucien. Especially since Elain herself described the bond as a “thread tied to a rib” in ACOWAR.
