I will be following this advice to a T
What are some tips and tricks you’ve done to get to your size! I’m beyond jealous :)
So some tricks I used to grow:
1) Have a love for food. Enjoy eating. Even if not eating to stuff yourself or max capacity, just overall learn to enjoy it.
2) If just starting out, definitely try your best to focus on the weight gain from food consumption over shakes/boost. My first 65lbs were just from donuts, fast food, beer, pizza, ice cream. All that kinda junk food.
3) If you’re in the gym at all, stick with it. But shift your weight training to a more body building kinda routine. High weight, low rep, low impact cardio (bike, stair stepper, incline walking—helps the glutes). As you increase your strength, you’ll notice your appetite explode too.
4) After you’ve established a good routine and noticing progress, don’t let up. Add another burger to your usual double quarter pounder with fries—add a couple pies and a shake. Create food challenges to have fun with it. Try to eat an entire pizza. Order a family sized meal just for yourself. Eat 10 McDouble‘s/McChicken’s…things like that.
5) My final step was adding boost. Once I had grown from 215-305…I had a friend turn me on to VHC Boost and wow, did that really change my body from pudgy gym dirty bulk look to overfed exjock in less than 3 months. BUT (here’s my golden rule)…once you hit this stage, always make sure you’re eating your calories first THEN adding milkshakes, boost, gainer shake and the like on top of your already calorie dense meal. You can easily take a 2K calorie meal and double it with the right ratio of liquids to fill in the cracks after.
All of this goes without saying the number one rule in gaining (in my opinion) is to always listen to your body. If you’re craving a salad or something healthy after all the sloppy foods, that’s ok!! Do it. If you want to take a day to two off to rest and just eat normal. Do it. If you notice pains or anything uneasy, stop and make sure things are good. Always always ALWAYS contact your doc if things don’t feel right and always make sure to do at least one checkup a year to check on your BP, blood sugar and things like that. Being fat and obese is great and all but you’ve gotta be smart about it too and responsible about your overall health.
Take what you want from this and have fun with it! Don’t put pressure on yourself about the scale or how little you’re changing compared to others. Always do this for yourself and enjoy it!!
