Started a new mixed media piece on mdf wood that is feeling right. I started this one out by loosely painting abstract shadows with india ink. Next I used papers I found in the trash or on the ground to collage into negative spaces. I've used other mixed media materials to develop the surface further and carved into spaces as well. The goal is to keep some of the looseness and raw surfaces simple while developing other areas further and really push the value contrast.
