how did you and your baby meet?

I’ve always been hesitant to share this but we actually met on Grindr lol Gays shame each other for it all the time but it’s so played out. I mean, how else are gays supposed to meet? LGBTQ POC especially. That shit is not easy. Let’s stop throwing shade and denying our community and *ourselves* a valuable experience or potential love connection. I’m so glad we met. We were both coming out of a bullshit ass relationship and I don’t think we expected to fall in love, especially so quick — we got together a week after our first date — but he’s changed my life and I believe he’s my soulmate. It’s not just the amazing sex we have but we’ve been connected to each other way before we were even born. My Black grandparents grew up in the same house he lives in, my dad lost his virginity in Jose’s garage lol and our families in Mexico are less that 20 minutes down the road from each other (When you’re Latinx there comes a time when y’all have to figure out who’s family you’re going to visit and we can go to the same part of Mexico without having to argue about it lol). He and my best friend met in college years before I met him. So did a few of my other friends. Our struggles & trauma growing up, our humor, our gay ass demeanor is so much alike. I love my baby boy. We’ve put each other thru a lot of hurt and frustration like any other couple but what matters is how you deal with it and your commitment and passion for one another. ****Fuck everyone else, all that matters is you and your boo. We’ve been together for almost 5 years now and there hasn’t been one day since November 8, 2013 that we haven’t seen each other.
