Why Is Taylor Quiet About Politics?

I keep getting questions on this matter. And honestly, I’m a little tired of reading them. You don’t need a white celebrity/savior to help you on this. Taylor Swift does not have more power than you do. The power lies in you. Everyday people as a collective group. Do you, as an everyday person, want to be an activist and talk about it, just like MLK, Malcolm X, Malala Yousafzai and many others have. Or do you just want to stay apathetic and blame other celebrities for not doing anything. And honestly, will the choice of the latter help change anything? I’m sure Taylor has her reasons for not attending the Women’s March. In any case, her not attending will not make an impact on Trump’s decisions to reverse the foreign abortion policy. Or get Trump out of the White House.  Sure, she is a celebrity, but ask yourself honestly. How will Taylor attending a protest help? Other influential celebrities attended the march too. Did it help? No. Sadly, it didn’t. Who were the ones who were able to put a temporary stop to Trump’s executive orders on the travel ban? It was the everyday people. Federal judges in Federal courts did that. Everyday people took to the streets and went to airports to protest made an impact too.  Stop putting so much pseudo power in celebrities. Instead of wasting time watching every celebrity’s social media, why not you actually do something useful for the cause you are passionate about. In fact, I find it interesting that some blogs who are highly critical about Taylor’s supposed apathy, never ever blog about politics too. Quit being hypocrites please.  Be the change you want to see.
