one of my favourite details in taz balance (that i’m not even sure is intentional?) is that when Barry talk about the light in episode 66 he says this:

and this makes sense, since they need to split the light into 7 pieces between them, which if we do some math would mean each relic contains ~14.2% of the light.

But let’s then think about this: Lucretia, over the year of balance, is gathering the relics and extracting the light from them immediately upon arrival. Therefore, when Lucretia obtains the gauntlet, she has 14.2% of the light not contained in a relic (we’re discounting the staff). This is, obviously, below 15%. Once she obtains the oculus, she has 28.4% of the light, which is obviously ABOVE 15%, so by now the hunger should be able to begin tracking the light.

When’s the first appearance of the Hunger in the show? It’s the midsummer festival on the moon, between retrieving the oculus and the sash. Barry’s math completely checks out.

they probably learned astronomy from some plane at some point, but imagine how funny it would be if the Starblaster crew knew all this stuff about planes but didn’t know basic astronomy.

think about it. the Starblaster was their planet’s “first spaceship”. they skipped right over space travel to go for planar travel. what if they just don’t know anything about space because they’re too busy with magic and dimensions
