i know that a lot of people don’t care about the idea of public lands being sold, which saddens me greatly because that’s literally your land! like yeah it technically belongs to the state but the state holds it in trust for you! and your children! and your children’s children and their children’s children!

You may be surprised to learn that fish and chips, though wildly popular in England for what seems like eternity, was actually a specialty of the Portuguese Sephardic Jews who fled the Inquisition in the 16th century and found refuge in the British Isles. I truly do not understand why my (separated) spouse is making life so difficult for himself with this separation/divorce process... like. I was the one who worked, and so I was not only willing, but planning on waiting to divorce him to keep him on my health insurance a while longer until he could get on his feet and/or at least get diagnosed with whatever he has going on. I was gonna pay for the coverage, I was gonna (voluntarily!) pay him maintenance, I was gonna do all the shitty reimbursement paperwork, and I even offered to help with what I could in terms of out of pocket costs. I spent hours of time and effort and emotional energy and research to draft something that I thought protected us both as much as possible while still being as generous to him as I feasibly can be. He shot it down without telling me what his issues with it were or offering a counterproposal, so I genuinely have no fucking clue what is going on. I have never tried to play hardball with him; if anything, I've tried to be as kind and caring and respectful and transparent as possible.

I don't want to screw him over; why does he seem to want so badly to screw himself over?
