Contract signed :)
My contract finally came through. Signing it electronically was a lot more simple than I thought it would be. But it’s safe to say that I am officially employed! I have high hopes going into teaching and I hope my passions will continue to flourish! Next up on my list of things to do this summer is to attend teacher’s benefit meeting, a 2-day new orientation meeting for the district (WTF?), buy school supplies, set up my classroom, get to know my co-workers, and begin planning my first teaching unit!
Above all, I definitely need to finish my Master’s degree by this summer. Knowing that I finally have a real job keeps me motivated. I know I can do it!

I just got approved!
I’m so excited to begin a new life, a new journey, and definitely a new career! Although I was hired a 3 weeks ago, I still had to wait for the county in my area to approve my credentials. I felt like nothing was official until I had signed the contract so I couldn’t get my hopes up too high. But who was I kidding, I told EVERYONE!!!
Anyway, it’s been an agonizing wait. I can’t wait to officially sign the contract, receive my name badge, set up my teacher email, and work on my school laptop. Attending all the orientations seem so exciting. I look forward to a career where I don’t have to constantly please strangers to receive compensation for it. I can’t wait to quit my part-time serving job. After being a student for such a long time, I can’t wait to finally be on the other side. I can’t wait to decorate my classroom. I can’t wait to plan my unit lessons. I can’t wait to meet my coworkers. But most of all, I can’t wait to meet my freshmen students!!!
