The Bateses in Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022)

Like with the first film, I’ve decided to dump these all in one post for multiple reasons. One of being that a lot of the actual film stills did not make it online digitally, just the posters did.

First I’ll have the images you’ll most likely be looking for (i.e. The Bates Family together), then the posters, then the rest in loose order of the film, and BTS at the end. Most of stills are just photos from the book or other merchandise. 

Ben Blackall was the still photographer for ANE; the black and white photo shoot was by Jason Bell Photo.

I do not plan to update this post with more or bigger stills, unless a new one with all three Bateses appears.

The Bateses in Downton Abbey (2019)

I’ve decided to dump this all in one post for multiple reasons. First I’ll have the images you’ll most likely be looking for, then the posters, then the rest in loose order of the film, and BTS at the end. Some of these are just photos from the books, and I did not include two or three were you can barely make out they are in the shot.

The film seems to have multiple on-set photographers. I also think it’s possible that there’s both still photography (i.e. what we refer to as “stills”) and images captured from the film (much like us making screencaps) that were used as well. The film book credits Jaap Buitendijk and Liam Daniel, but I feel like there’s been at least a third name credited in places.

I do not plan to update this post with more or bigger stills, unless a new one with all three Bateses appears.

Currently unsure how I want to go about including film stills. I might dump all of them behind a “Keep Reading” in a few posts instead of doing them as I have the TV show. Plus, backdating thing can get a bit tedious and I can rearrange pictures with in a text post easier. Stay tuned!

Note that even with the correctly adjusted timestamps, I cannot get the posts to be backdated in the correct order (like all the “Anna only” photos with all the “Anna only” photos nor Bates with Bates) in the “s4 general” and “s5 general’ tags. There isn’t oddles of pics in there like S3 so shouldn’t be too hard to look through though. It looks like it might be a Tumblr glitch so it might sort itself out anyway...

EDIT: the order issue is computer only, mobile is okay!

I had wanted a relatively simple layout for this blog to showcase the stills. Tumblr keeps messing with the default layout even though I messed with the coding to make it custom.
