Expository essay (process essay)
How to cook Adobong Manok or Chicken Adobo Adobong manok, or Chicken Abodo, is a popular Asian Filipino cuisine. This delicious and aromatic native dish of the Philippines has been cooked for generations. It can be served atop of rice, with potatoes, or just plain. 1 whole chicken, cut into fist-sized pieces 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 cup vinegar 1 tsp sugar Pinch of salt and peppercorn 3 bay leaves 1 cup water 1 medium onion, chopped 4 cloves of garlic, pressed or chopped Cooking oil Salt and pepper to taste Heat the garlic and onion in oil on medium heat. Add the garlic first and cool until lightly brown. Then add the chopped onions and cook until it becomes translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic and onion. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to keep the ingredients moving. Add the chicken and stir. You don't have to use a whole chicken. Instead, you can use parts of the chicken you like the best instead. Add the soy sauce, vinegar, peppercorn, salt, sugar, water, and bay leaves. Stir and mix everything together. Bring the chicken to a boil. Once everything begins to boil, turn your stove to low heat. Add more water to the mixture if you think the dish is too dry. Let the chicken simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Cover the skillet and let the chicken simmer until it is tender. After 15 minutes, spoon the sauce over the chicken. Let it simmer for the rest of the remaining time. If you like your chicken dry, let it simmer for a little longer. Serve and enjoy. You can serve the adobong manok on top of rice, with potatoes, or with bread. And pair it with a refreshing glass of cold soda or fresh juice. Junel G. Menor GAS 12-K

Narrative essay
Last January 2019, I attended a church preachers camp at high Acres camp, Calot Sablan, Benguet, with the them of INTEGRITY. This was not my usual camp. It was The Center for Spiritual Living, which meant that they accepted almost anything that was positive for me in terms of spiritual belief. However, it was my first time attending camp like this. Anyways, I was a part of the teen group there for obvious reasons. Though most teens there were spiritual, I think what was mostly on our minds is finding the will of God in our life. It was no different for me. I had my first fellowship with pastors and other spiritual leaders at different churches. But going back on track, the preachers camp was a 3-days spiritual challenge, personal examine, a sports fellowship, and much more. Another big thing that was happening was the challenge of main speaker, Pastor Jonie BrasileƱo talk's about the man is not for sale. For some odd reason, I thought I must apply the principles of being a man with integrity. Maybe it was because some of my peers prompted me to do so, as a youth leader. I was appointed to be a under training leader as a next generation leader in our church. At camp I was examine greatly to build my self, in means of integrity. God let me to attend just to say that I live without integrity in me. I am very thankful not just because of the theme, but because of I was given a opportunity to test my self and practice living with wholeness and honesty. How I would lead the youth members in mind. In retrospect, it sounds highfalutin, but I guess it worked, because they choose me to lead the youth congregation. I was ecstatic, though I tried my best to hide it. In fact, a few days after I was appointed, reality came crashing in my head, and I tried to come to grips with what had happened. I wanted to prove to myself that I could win, but now that I had won, I did not know if I could handle the responsibility. I think I liked being ā€œin chargeā€ but not the weight that goes with it. But onto a more important point, can you imagine I become a church youth leader with a small integrity in me? Not only was it for a church, but for such a minor position, that is difficult to grasp why someone would go through that trouble. This situation proved to me that within God, even from its lowest denomination, corruption is present. In fact, a month after being the leader of the youth congregation, I quit due to being disgusted with the amount of money trying to be raised for ā€œimportantā€ purposes, having a huge donation banner on the left side of the church hall. I became disillusioned with churches in general, and meditated instead, finding God within me. Christian Abastillas GAS 12-K

Personal essay
When I was a child my life was easy because I did not have any problem. I only think was to play a Filipino games like habulan, hide and seek, patintero and etc. I go home when I feel hungry. Also, that time I just want to watched a cartoon and eat my favorite candy. But when I grow up, I learned many things in my life, in my family and in my surroundings, also when I'm become a Born Again I learned how my life work is. I give importance to my life than before and I give more attention to the things that I never do before. To the point that there are so many problem that came to my life that I need to solve and give a solutions. But carefully, I have a responsibility that I need to work with, like in my studies because I did not really focus on my studies when I'm in elementary and junior high which I regretted now. All in all, I learned that you must enjoy your life but make sure to do your best and the things that we need to do. Jomi Rose Berches GAS 12-K

Food Blog STREETFOODS Hi guys! I want to share with you our experience in Plaza of Salinas, here in Cavite. Tricia and I decided to go in near place where there are many streetfoods. We chose to blog about streetfood because it is affordable and easy to find. Philippine Street Food, also known as Pagkaing Kalye in Filipino, is a wide variety of inexpensive cuisine that you can buy from vendors or peddlers on the streets. It is essentially influenced by other neighboring countries' dishes like Chinese and Japanese, taken to the next level and given a Filipino twist.

The first food that we bought was kwek kwek . Kwek Kwek / Tokneneng Kwek kwek is a hard-boiled quail egg that’s coated with an orange batter and deep-fried until crispy. They’re pretty much exactly how you’d imagine them to taste, like eggs deep-fried in tempura batter. The batter itself is flavorless so I have no idea why it has to be orange. Perhaps just to make the kwek kwek look more appetizing? If that’s the reason, then it works. We all know that kwek kwek is very famous. Kwek kwek is our favorite streetfood because it is very affordable and delicious.

The second food that we bought was pancake that only costs 5 peso and it has condensed milk and butter. A pancake (or hotcake, griddlecake, or flapjack) is a flat cake, often thin and round, prepared from a starch-based batter that may contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often frying with oil or butter. We love pancakes. Everything in pancake is delicious. We want to buy one more but we should eat other foods for this blog. Hehe

Because of the food we ate, we got thirsty. So, we bought palamig and it cost 5 peso only. Very affordable , right? Palamig is scattered everywhere because filipinos are matipid person. So they just buy affordable beverages. Tricia ordered choco moo , the popular choco drink. While mine is juicy orange.
