Sorted, finished, done
For someone who professes to be some kinda of love and light pixie, when I'm in a bad mood I'm kinda like a satanic hippo... Sooooo let me tell you a little bit about the achievements..(instead of moaning) X3 blokes walked 54 miles in 23 hours 18 minutes X3 guys from Erskine supported them, apparently with epic rolls They have raised £1600 for foundation Scotland £200 plus for Smile for life (I have to go and count the plus) The sweepstake in Erskine as well.. But that's for the guys who walked to decide where that goes. Much to my merriment I realised today that there really isn't anything else to be done. Then sent an email out to the site for the neon run in October. Andrew has black toes, I havent seen them, but im sure if you ask nicely he'll tell you to bugger off. Dan thinks one of his toe nails feel off... All very nice and I do really feel for them. So really just a massive well done to them all. To get them there, did take a bit of chronic nagging, a fair few food sales and involving un sellable pasta and burritos.. Raffles.. Football tournaments.. Scratch cards..a bike raffle.. A Sega mega drive raffle.. And lots of cake. And that's with having to run other charity's along side it. And Bernie sorted a sponsored walk and BBQ in Erskine and John got a fair few sponsors Seemingly Andrews whole clan donated online. And my bosses mum was our biggest online fan. Posts about Andrew where the most popular on Facebook ( but I removed one cos it was a portrait thingy.... And err reasons I can't recall tbh) So really just thank you all so much.. Cheers Jules

Well
I am so proud of the guys! Really proper amazing. The blogs nearly finished, I mean it's going to be about money and getting it across to the charity's from now on in. The guys have done something really amazing, it's an achievement. And something they should remember for the rest of their lives. Must feel good to say "look what I did" in years to come. Me, well. I'm not quite done with it yet. I still have stuff to do with finishing off the charity stuff. The last few weeks has been amazingly hard for me. I've had a close friend from Wales die, had a few nasty s happen to me from people I generally liked (that always sucks doesn't it? Especially when you trust someone) a few nasty s from other people. And yeah it's easy to go, it doesn't matter and brush it off but you can't always do that. I'm a human being not a robot. And not well.. Hospitals blah blah blah. I have really tried my best, and I hope the guys have had an amazing time.

So they be hiking

This was the team at the first check point. Look at Dan, no matter if he's walked 10 miles he still looks like he's in a Boyband. The latest update is the have walked 34 miles, so there's 20 to go. They've done extremely well to get this far.

1 sleep.. Zero days at work
Dan was in a very good mood today. I don't know if that was hysteria or the Sunshine, but he was very jolly Andrew was off shopping after work to buy some clothes to wear for the walk. It will probably be blue or brown. If its exciting it may be green. John is apparently stocking up on energy drinks And that's it really... The funds raised are £2005 .. Take out the registration fee and it's £1855 Tbh I was a bit worried as Dan and Andrew went plodding off out of work. Will they be alright? Will Andrews sense of direction play up again? Will John overdose on Red Bull? Will Dans quiff fluff up in the heat? Many many worries. But I'm sure they'll be alright... I hope

One more day at work
Hello.. The chaps have one more day at work and two sleeps. I'm trying to put into context how long they are walking.. And that 54 miles is a long way. I've been to the gym tonight, and from my average on a 10 minute wam up on x stepper I do 4.36 miles per hour. Which is fine in a 10 minute spurt but to keep that up for an hour nevermind 24 hours is a massive task. We did a nearly 10 mile charity walk in October, I nearly died several times. As did a few others. So when they say challenge, they mean challenge So fair play to the guys doing it. Staying awake for 24 hours is an achievement ( something I can't do, without turning into a massive toddler) Walking 54 miles and staying awake is awesome. In fact even the fact that they have attempted it is amazing. I hope they finish it, but if they don't.. No worries it's a very difficult thing to do. Dan has bought a radio to listen to the football on, as apparently it's the World Cup. Dans supporting England, Johns supporting every team playing England. You never know Andrew may come back converted to football. I doubt it, at least Andrew has Hugo for company. And Hugo sent me a box of Lush stuff in the post. Thank you Hugo. He's a very clever hiking hound

Well, it's not long now
It is 3 more sleeps till the 13th and 4 more sleeps till the challenge I have tried and tried and tried... To make as much money as possible for charity. But now it's up to the lads to do the walk and get sponsorship. It is all on them now. The weather looks ok, the updates from the challenge keep coming through. After how many months I can now say caledonian.. I try to put extra l's and n's in it. It's from living in Wales. Try and say Builth or Dogelliu.. Go on.. They'll be flem everywhere. I would just like to point out that I only got into this Caledonian Challenge thing because Andrew wanted to do it (please see early blog entries) and he had a few drinks with his colleagues that are making up the team. It's been said a few times that an interesting story never started with going out for a salad... So there you go. Fundraising wise, it's been a long one.. Trying to fit it in with other charity's and work activities. But it's been fun. There's still a lot of stuff to do with getting monies to people etc... For me, personally, it's been cool, though I do worry and list things. I must admit, my biggest concern was.. Are they going to get there and actually do it? And they are.

Sunday Sunday...
.. Is a really bad blur song from the 90s. Think it's from the album modern life is rubbish. Mind you I wasn't much into Blur or Oasis for the matter.... Anyway it's Sunday. And this time next week it should all be done apart from getting the monies to charities (YAYyyyyyY fun times for Jules) There will probably be blisters and smelly tired people. But they will have achieved something. And charity's that help make people's lives better will get some dosh. You know I wish I could have went. But I can't for about 14 zillion reasons. But you know lads weekend and all that stuff. The newsfeed on Faceache keeps popping up with hiking hound pictures.. And start lines, finish times.. Ya know all that jazz For some reason which escapes any kind of normal logic, I am actually feeling a wee bit sad about the whole thing. Hmmm, but I know, get on with it etc

Saturday .. The great flood
Hellos Instead of a group of 20 we where a group of 6 for the BBQ There's been rumours of bad weekend weather all week.. That and Andrews been grumpy all week "Whatever!!" .. So attendance was low. On a plus more food!!!!! Gareth and Gareth's BFF attended.( Not being rude am crap with names) Me and Alicia went. Dan and Andrew where very very damp.Dan totally dressed for the Weather, Andrew did not (please see previous comments around preperation) They did five miles in two hours. Slightly worrying.. As Gerrys spreadsheet seems to be planned out at 10 miles in about two and a half Johns been doing exercise..12 miles in 3 hours.. Nice one John.

F is for Friday and other words starting with F
Natalie Havelin is amazing. You know what she's a genius! She knows how sweep stakes work. Apparently my happy suggestion of the first one to drop out or die wouldn't work with the team time sweep stake she has made. I forgot to ask about getting turned into a werewolf or eaten by a werewolf. Anyway, this works in well for fundraising and as Andrews has offices in Gateshead, two in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland it's a great way to raise money for local charity's across the UK. See my plan there, good aint it. And totally not possible without Nats genius. So I love Nat. See you can engage people on mass, raise some money and have some fun. Tahhhh dahhhhhhh etc. so fun... I may or may not of had an angry today. At the start of the day I has the dumb. Tomorrow is BBQ and walk thingy... And after that, then they'll be doing the Challenge the following weekend. It should be good...
