My Personal Good Bye @teamcarylmundial 

At the beginning of this year, and for personal reasons, I had decided that his year was going to be my last one in the administration and the latest news about our favorite couple reinforced that decision.

At first I wanted to let it rest for a few days because I didn’t want to write something out of hurt but out of the good things that this journey has brought to me.

Personally, and like we had expressed in our first post after the spoilers, I will always believe que the relationship between Carol and Daryl is unique, special and goes beyond the screen but it is also true that in these last seasons the show has showed us how both of them have parted ways.

The hope was always there, encouraged by our love towards the characters, their wonderful connection and also by the creators of the story (even though they try to deny it) who always gave us that one more scene, that one more poster, merchandising that had us hanging just one more season until it stopped being enough when we learned about those spoilers.

Just to be clear… I will always believe in the magic that Caryl has, I am not jumping out of the ship but I can’t and won’t keep supporting a show that never ceased to mistreat Carol and Caryl fans.

Today I remembered that I have been admin of this Team for 4 and a half years. I got in when we were just over 300 people (FB’s community) and I thought “Wow it’s not just me who think that they are meant for each other!”, being part and leading TCM has been quite the experience.

And of course, there were dramas (more than a few) but I choose to keep just the good and beautiful memories from these years… getting to know people from different parts of the world just because we all wanted to support this ship, seeing all members of this community participating and supporting us in all our social networks or being part of all our projects.

A huge THANK YOU to all the fan artists, the people who made videos or editions and shared them with us, to the fanfic writers that gave us stories where Caryl could have the happy endings (that made us happy too) that the show hasn’t been able to give us. Thank you because you’re the reason for this fandom to be this big and wonderful.

I’ve been reading the term “true fans” a lot these days and I always respected the different opinions in the fandom and I think that it’s ok if you are a “Caryl Endgame” fan, I think that it’s ok if you decide to leave the show because it isn’t what you want to see, I also think that the respect should be the first thing always so don’t judge someone else’s opinions.

I also want to say that I still support MMB and NR but now it will be from another place, wishing them both success and happiness in every project.

Finally, I don’t want to leave without mentioning all the people who made this community possible: Ana, Carla, Diana, Diane, Alejandra, Raquel, Salma, Melany. And many others that have been part of this, like Nadixx (founder of this community), Carla, Adriana, Maru, Vale, Estela and so many more….

Thank you for accompanying me and supporting me during these years, every grain of sand with which each one contributed was what made this Caryl community grow!

Some will say: isn’t this farewell a little dramatic? and the answer is: NO, I personally dedicated many hours of my life to this project and I don’t regret it, but today came the time to give it a closure.

I wish the best to everyone, and perhaps life find us again in another show, of course shipping, because I think it is part of our DNA hahahaha.

Mi despedida personal:

A principios de año y por motivos personales había decidido que éste año sería mi última temporada al frente de la comunidad.

Los últimos acontecimientos con respecto a nuestra pareja preferida no hicieron más que adelantar mi decisión.

En principio dejé pasar unos días porque no quería escribir algo desde el dolor, sino recordar lo bueno de ésta experiencia.

En lo personal y como habíamos transmitido en el comunicado con los primeros spoilers, siempre creeré que la relación entre Carol y Daryl es única, especial y traspasa la pantalla, pero también es una verdad que las últimas temporadas, el show nos mostró cómo ambos personajes toman caminos separados en sus historias.

La esperanza siempre estuvo ahí, alentada por el amor a los personajes, su maravillosa conexión y también motivada (aunque ahora se trate de negar), por los realizadores de éste show, que siempre dejaron entrever la ambigüedad de la relación, y cuando uno ya había perdido la esperanzas nos mostraban otra escena que nos conmovía y nos tenía ahí con la expectativa de “algo”  más, sin contar con la promoción y  publicidad que se le hizo a la pareja ya sea por declaraciones tanto de los realizadores, como de los actores involucrados, como también de imágenes promocionales, merchandising relacionado a ellos, etc.

Para que quede claro, siempre voy a creer en la magia de Caryl, no me bajo del barco, pero no puedo y no quiero seguir apoyando un show que no se cansó de destratar a los fans de Carol y Caryl.

Hoy recordé que hace 4 años y medio soy administradora del Team, ingresé cuando no éramos más que 300 personas (Grupo de Facebook) y no olvidó la sensación de pensar: “Woow no soy la única que los ve como pareja!”, participar y coordinar esta comunidad, fue TODA una experiencia!

Por supuesto, que hubo dramas y muchos! Elijo quedarme con las alegrías y lindos momentos que pasaron durante estos años, comenzando con la unión de personas de todas partes del mundo en pos de apoyar a ésta pareja, la participación de los miembros de ésta comunidad ya sea apoyándonos en nuestras distintas redes sociales, o participando en cada proyecto a los que los invitamos.

Un agradecimiento especial a los fan artistas, a los que realizaban videos o imágenes editadas y lo compartían con nosotros. No me olvido de las escritoras de fan fic, que nos dieron a través de sus escritos, historias que nos llegaban al corazón y nos ofrecían una realidad alternativa de lo que nos ofrecía el show. Gracias, muchas gracias porque fue por ustedes que el fandom fue y es tan grande y maravilloso.

Éstos días leí mucho el término “los verdaderos fans”, yo siempre respeté la opinión de todos, creo que está bien si eres fan Caryl endgame, creo que está bien si decides abandonar el show porque no satisface lo que quieres ver, creo firmemente y como en todas las áreas de la vida, el respeto debería ser lo primero, no juzgar a los demás por lo que creen o no.

También quiero aclarar que mi apoyo a MMB y NR seguirá estando, pero ahora desde otro lugar, deseándoles que cada proyecto que encaren los haga felices y los llene de satisfacciones profesionales.

Para finalizar, no quiero dejar de mencionar a todas las personas que hicieron posible ésta comunidad: Ana, ,Carla, Diana, Diane, Alejandra, Raquel, Salma, Melany. Y muchas que pasaron durante éstos años por empezar x Nadixx (creadora de la comunidad), Carla, Adriana, Maru, Vale, Estela y muchos mas…..

Gracias por acompañarme y soportarme durante éstos años, cada grano de arena con la que contribuyó cada una fue lo que hizo creer ésta comunidad Caryl!

Algunos dirán: no es un poco dramática ésta despedida? y la respuesta es: NO, personalmente dedique muchas horas de mi vida a éste proyecto y no me arrepiento, sólo que hoy llegó el momento de darle el punto final.

Les deseo lo mejor a todos, y quizás la vida, nos encuentre en otra serie por supuesto que shippeando, porque creo que es parte de nuestro ADN jajajaja.

Dear Caryl Community

We're sure most of you know about the latest spoilers and we wanted to share our thoughts about it. This ship has gone through a lot. It has had many highs and (more than anything) lows. And these past few seasons have been a real challenge for us and many carylers have decided not to watch the show because of it. Today, we face a scenario that even through we knew it was a possibility, we always hoped that it didn't play out in the show. To us, Caryl has always been canon and we will always love this ship even if the show keeps trying to make us think otherwise. But even so... there are things that we don't want nor we need to see. This is why we want to let you know that we will not be posting stuff from this new season. We do not support the direction the show is taking and we will not stay and see they ruining the one thing that made us keep watching it. We aren't jumping out of the ship, we never did. But we won't stay and watch them ruin the character we love so much (meaning Carol). We prefer to keep what was good from the first few seasons. The Carol that morphed from the mouse scared of her own shadow to the badass that saved the group in Terminus. The Daryl that even though he didn't have to do it, stayed with the group to do everything in his capacity to find a little girl that wasn't his. The Carol that even in the saddest moment of her life could smile when Daryl, the bad guy of the group, gifted her hope in the form of a flower in a beer bottle. We prefer to think that the show ended in No sanctuary and that the last 3 seasons were a very bad nightmare. We prefer to give Carol and Daryl the beautiful happy ever after that we have read in a thousand different ways in fanfiction. This is why today we decided to keep all our social media (facebook, instagram, twitter, tumblr) in stand by for the moment. We refuse to support a show that has never had any respect towards us. We don't know if we will post again in the future (maybe old stuff, or Melissa's or Norman's, but never stuff from the new seasons). Querida comunidad Caryler: Estamos seguras de que ya la mayoría ha leído los últimos spoilers y queremos hacerles saber nuestra postura al respecto. Este ship ha pasado por muchas etapas, muchos altos y aún muchos mas bajos. Estas últimas temporadas han sido todo un reto para nosotr@s, y muc@s han optado por dejar de ver el show debido a esto. Hoy, nosotras nos enfrentamos a un escenario que si bien sabíamos que era posible, de verdad teníamos la esperanza de que no se diera. Para nosotras, Caryl siempre ha sido canon, y siempre amaremos a esta pareja, aun cuando el show se ha empeñado en tratar de hacernos pensar lo contrario. Pero aún así... hay cosas que no queremos ni estamos dispuestas a ver. Es por eso, que les comunicamos que no publicaremos mas material nuevo sobre la nueva temporada. Nosotras no apoyamos la dirección que está tomando el show y no nos quedaremos para ver cómo arruinan lo único por lo que seguíamos viendo. No estamos abandonando el ship, nunca lo hicimos. Pero no nos quedaremos a verlos arruinar el personaje que tanto amamos. Preferimos quedarnos con lo bueno de las primeras temporadas. Con la Carol que pasó de ser un ratón asustado de su propia sombra a ser la salvadora de todos en Terminus. Con el Daryl que no teniendo nada que lo uniera al grupo, decidió quedarse a ayudar a buscar a una niña con la que él no tenía relación. Con la Carol que aun en su momento mas triste, pudo sonreír cuando Daryl, el chico malo del grupo, le regaló esperanza en forma de una flor dentro de una botella de cerveza. Preferimos pensar que el show terminó en No Sanctuary y que las 3 temporadas que vinieron después de eso fueron un mal sueño. Preferimos darles a Carol y Daryl el hermoso final feliz que hemos visto escrito de mil formas distintas en los fanfics. Es por eso, que hoy decidimos que por el momento todas nuestras páginas (facebook, twitter, tumblr, instagram) quedarán en stand by. Nos negamos a apoyar un show que nunca tuvo respeto por nosotras. No sabemos si en un futuro volveremos a publicar (quizás material de temporadas pasadas, de Melissa o de Norman, pero nada de la nueva temporada). Fanfiction is just the best isn’t it? You can go read a 5k little dribble about your otp having a morning cuddle with a side of pancakes, and then go to a 100k full fucking space epic au that someone just wrote cause they wanted to. We have heartwretching fics, coffee shop au’s, westerns, modern fantasies, arranged marriages, medieval stories, I’m so grateful to fanfic writers for giving us stories (some better than published books) about our favorite characters to read on the daily for free.
