Grading time
I wanted to grade in a way that it looks like the monitor was reflecting the colours of the screen would be like on the bg if a person was watching and the brightness was up loads.
so I added some luts which I thought would be okay for the time being as a reference, and I just thought they were quick way out. so I deleted them and started from scratch.
using curves to pick out shadows to make them darker and highlights to make them lighter or brighter in a the rub channel, also within the single colour spectrum.
had a look down the preset menu. browsed through what looked nice.
finally, time to render. h.264, HDV 1080p..... hopefully this is right!
uploaded the first version to youtube because I know me and work, poof it goes and vanishes.... we don't have a team channel, think this maybe a good idea.
sent the link to the group, asked for feedback and what id need to change or alter, and the audio was a bit too loud, so I took it back into premiere and lowered the audio mixer down and rendered it back out.
showed them again and they were all happy with it.... boom happy days!

cutting the VO
Alfie has decided to trim the voice over because he felt that it was too lengthy and decided to cut this section of the vo out.

VFX
Had to make some roto work too, but it wasn’t too bad, because it only lasted a couple of frames

VFX
First I put a solid on the tv and then used it as an alpha matte to put the tv idents on the screen.
Then I added some slight glow that’s coming from the tv
And then I added some blur on the actors and foreground to give some depth.

VFX
I decided to track the footage first to put a screen replacement. To get a better track I made the footage brighter. Actually it tracked quite well.
Then I saw a problem that I hadn’t noticed while filming: there was a light on the shot. But I had a solution (and Alfie recommended to do the same thing). First, I masked the area around the light, then I moved a copy of the wall behind the masked area and then I tracked the footage so that the area would stay in the same place. I also tried to color correct the area to make it fit in with the other parts of the wall.
And then I added a vignette.

Filming
Me and Courtney could finally film it, because we found out that we won’t get help from the Director of Photography and so we had to film everything ourself. But we weren’t alone... Jamie, Klaudia, Jade and her friend came to help us out. I think the filming didn’t go too bad, but to be honest, I’m not very good at filming things. I’m much better in visual effects (I hope...)

Diffusion

so for what i want the lighting to look like i want it to look soft so i will be taking out either a soft box or diffuser material to put over whatever source of lighting i feel suits best for location.
