Last month we travelled to Jakarta to run a workshop with young creatives explaining the Design and Brand philosophy behind #teatumjones belief that fashion holds an immense power to present a pro-social message of inclusivity and positive identity. ⠀ ⠀ This young woman @echilicious modelled in our catwalk at Jakarta Fashion Week alongside a very inclusive casting of strong and inspiring women. It was the first time in the history of Jakarta Fashion Week, indeed in Indonesia, that someone like @echilicious had modelled in a catwalk show. ⠀ ⠀ It is our belief that if people can identify with @echilicious and see themselves mirrored within fashion, both on and off the catwalk, it will begin to shift the centre of what is considered the 'norm.' A concept that we learned from the incredibly astute @jusmarai We believe that it will bring them towards a 'new centre', outside of the margins that society's 'norm' has placed them in.
