Sauron allowed himself a moment of vulnerability when he met Galadriel, and through that crack in his armor, her light slipped in, the light of love which lit up his shadow soul.

i love that rings of power had celebrimbor call sauron "shadow of morgoth", tell him that the one ring will be his destruction and that he will be a prisoner of the rings forever before giving him the title of "lord of the rings" and that every single one of those moments, despite what was occurring in those scenes, was presented as a victory for celebrimbor and a defeat for sauron.

not really a theory, more of a wishlist item but I’d love to see Gil-galad and especially the relationship between him and Elrond and/or him and Elendil get developed more in season three/four before we get to season five and the 🔥🔥😢😭

Seconding this! Especially hoping to see more of Gil-galad this season. I’m guessing season four will have a very big focus on Númenor, so maybe this season will give Gil-galad and Elrond their time to shine.

Halbrand was a form made for Galadriel. Didn’t s2ep1 told us this was not the case? He made this form before meeting Galadriel. I agree Halbrand might not return, but I disagree with this point.

Just going off of what Charlie said. I will concede that I didn’t necessarily mean the physical look, since he did take that on before he met her. But I’m not sure if he’ll return to his Good King Halbrand persona. Seems 50/50.

Re: Season Three Leaks

Just wanted to put it out there that I will NOT be publishing or sharing any leaks for season three. After the long nightmare of season two leaks, I’ll only be sharing officially released information!

That being said, I’ll be speculating plenty and sharing my thoughts on theories sent via asks! Anything that seems like a potential spoiler will be tagged with #TROP Spoilers. I encourage others to tag their leaks/spoilers as well! 🥰

THE CURLS IF THEY KNOW WHAT’S GOOD FOR THEM! (joking)

In all honesty it might be a wig because I know Rob had to cut his hair quite short for another project, although that was a while ago! Not sure how fast a man’s hair can grow.

If you had to guess: S3 Sauron will be

a) Halbrand b) Annatar (but for men) c) new form

I don’t think he’ll try to hide who he is anymore; he’ll probably even call himself Sauron, and might even keep the blond wig that he wore as Annatar.

Halbrand was a form made for Galadriel so he’ll likely only return to that if he is trying to communicate with her, but even then I’m not sure if it will be used. Sauron is just Sauron now, out in the open.

I could be wrong though! (I hope I’m wrong — my dream look for him would be similar to this photo but with darker hair now, almost a mix between Halbrand and Annatar.)

Season Three News

Prime Video has announced the renewal of  The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power! This post will be updated as new information is made available.

Here’s what you need to know: 

Contains spoilers.

Season three is officially underway. Filming is set to begin in Spring in the UK at Shepperton Studios. 

Official logline: “Jumping forward several years from the events of season 2, season 3 takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last.”

There will be a time jump of ‘several years’ and it sounds like Sauron will craft the One Ring in season three.

Director lineup: Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Stefan Schwartz.

Showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay remain on board as showrunners and executive producers.

Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan will be joining the cast. Bower will be a series regular, while Marsan will appear in a recurring role.

Charlie Vickers has mentioned in a few interviews now that season three will depict Sauron going further down the rabbit hole in terms of being evil and that the remaining light within him has been extinguished. So in terms of Sauron’s characterization, this gives a general idea as to where he’ll be headed.
