“Exactly! That makes you even more dangerous. If they think that you are just a defenseless little girl, they will get surprised and they never will know what hits them” he told her and chuckled. He kew from experience. Many people thought that he was the sweetest man alive. But whenever his bad side showed, woah it scared people half to death. Looking at her, he tilted his head to the side. “Now I really wanna see that”
“Oh, so it’s like a trick. Peridot, master of deception!” She laughed slightly, enjoying the sound of it. At least it gave her a reason to not be so self conscious about her height. If it made her something even more dangerous then it was a good thing. “Well I’ll show you! Or, I mean, I would, except I would need to go to Homeworld for a new visor and limb enhancers, and I’m like a traitor, kind of a big deal there you know, so I don’t think I can go back. Of course I could make new ones if Earth could progress even a little with their technology.”

“Yes, and the name is completely useless. It doesn’t even give any coordinates. No wonder no one comes to the planet.” She swatted at him, trying to get his hands off of her. “Well That doesn’t count! My skin doesn’t matter. My gem is what keeps me alive, and that’s plenty strong thank you very much.”
“Earth? Sounds stupid. Nirn sounds more fancy and better.” He laughs and squeezes her cheeks. Well Cicero never had a sense for personal space. “You feel squishy to Cicero.”

Looking at her with fondness, he tilted his head and giggled. Hearing her stutter, watching how she was torn between taking off the hat or keeping it on, his heart melted. This was way too adorable, he thought he was gonna actually pass out. Placing his hands over his chest, he nodded. “I am dangerous too. But I have heard that I am adorable. So being cute and adorable can be a great asset” he told her and nodded.
“Yeah, but no one will think you’re dangerous if you’re cute.” She remembered Steven seeing her without any additions for the first time, how unafraid he was. It had been incredibly embarrassing. Still, Peridot couldn’t just stand around and mope, that was bound to just make her look even worse. She straightened, putting her hands on her hips dramatically. “You should have seen me with my visor! I was super intimidating, even as a Peridot next to a Jasper.”

“Yeah, I still have no idea what you’re talking about, but I’ll just assume you know what you’re talking about and move on.” He wasn’t too worried about whatever she was talking about. There seemed to be people from all different worlds that had showed up, so he’d just come to accept it and move on from it. “Uh, not exactly, no. I’m not a werewolf, though we have some at home. I’m not sure what a fusion is, but maybe?” He shrugged his shoulders, deciding not to offer up that he was part angel. “I still have no idea what Camp Pining Hearts is, or who those people are, but you won’t get lost. Even if I don’t know my way around all that well, I don’t really get lost. I can always find my way to somewhere that I know.”
“Well of course I know what I’m talking about. Why would I talk about something I don’t understand?” The idea was ridiculous. If anything it just sounded like an easy way to embarrass herself. Still, she was glad he let it go. Even though she was more comfortable on earth now Homeworld was a bit of a sore topic. “It’s two gems, fused together to make one bigger stronger gem. I don’t know how humans would do it though. You’re organic so you can’t exactly dissolve into light to combine.” Still, Steven could do it, so logically Peridot couldn’t rule out the idea of human fusion as much as she’d like to. “It’s only the most artistic creation of this time! Well except for season five. That’s trash. I believe it’s what you call a television show. Oh! Is it like a honing sense? I had one of those along with a nap in my visor, but since that was throw in the ocean I’ve been stuck drawing a map of the city by had like some barbarian.”

“oh no. no no no no no. you will not steal my disbelief to make me look like the crazy one. i just won’t allow it.” she said, shaking her head as if she actually had any authority over what the other did. she knew she came off as weird to the humans, it was inevitable due to the huge difference in species, but she would not be made to look ridiculous. “i’ve seen some crazy garbage, basically off of which has happened on this unfortunate planet, but what you’re saying is just impossible. explain to me how any of that works but do it scientifically and maybe i’ll listen.”

“Gross.” Peridot said, waving her hands around slightly as if that could get the look off of her. “I look all fleshy and squishy. Absolutely not. I am way more solid than some human.” She didn’t know all the names he was listing. It must have been species from the planet. She’d have to find them and take notes later. “You’ve never heard of earth? We’re on earth. Do you know we’re on earth? Or are you part of some group where you’re somehow unaware of the rock you’re traveling through space on? And I thought humans couldn’t get anymore behind.”
“You look human to me…or well…maybe a Breton… Cicero can never tell the races from each other unless they are obvious like Khajit and Argonians and Elves.” He tilts his head. He’s never heard of this Earth since Earth has never been mentioned other than earth meaning the ground. “Well…that’s difficult for cicero to answer, but considering I never heard of Earth in the aspect you are saying…I would assume so” Huh he’s never thought of it like that that he will have a think about it with the Night Mother.

“But....don’t you want to expand? This planet has so much. You could make ships, gems, all the things you need to conquer and move on for more. I bet you could even make whatever transportation you need to get home.”
“It’s okay. No one has heard of it either so I’m used to that. Well I mean this place does have things I never seen or heard of…but I don’t need or want it. I’m fin with how I lived back home…if I can go back home at least.”

peridot’s eyes widened. “i am not!” she said with a huff, unaware that with her short height it may just make things worse. “y-you’d see, if i had my limb enhancers, or the cans steven gave me, i’d be way taller.” her hands wandered upwards for a second, considering removing the garment. she always found human clothes so interesting. she stopped though, jerking her hands back down. taking the hat off would be giving in. she couldn’t do that. “i-i’ll have you know i am super dangerous, tall or not.”

Jace still had the amused smirk on his face, not really understanding anything this stranger was talking about. “A pearl, like the thing from inside a clam? How are those servants?” He was confused, not knowing of any other pearl. “Your first mistake would be assuming I’m nothing more than a human, and that all humans are nice. That’s definitely not true. I’m only partially human, and I don’t really know any that are nice to a fault, except maybe Clary. She’s typically pretty nice unless you get on her bad side. Look, I’ll help you, but I’m not going to do it for you. I don’t know my way around much better than you do.” He didn’t have much patience at the moment, it had been too long since he’d had any entertainment that actually released an energy, and as a Shadowhunter, a soldier, he needed the fight to keep him from getting grouchy, much like he was now. His usual charming self was no where to be found at the moment.
She shook her head quickly, a small grin still on her face from the incomprehensible joke. “No no, like the gem, but not just the gem, you know, like the servant gem.” She paused, realizing this wouldn’t get anywhere and waved a hand. “You’ll have to come to Homeworld some time to understand it.” Peridot paused, looking him over with confusion and some slight interest. “Partially human? Has your biology been mixed with another animal? Oh my stars, are you the earth equivalent of a fusion?” She paused, unsure if she should tell him that she didn’t really care about his intention as long as she got the assistance she needed, but she was fairly certain that would be what Steven considered thoughts that should stay in her head. She’d have to log about it later though. “Alright, it’ll be just like in Camp Pining Hearts where Percy and Paulette go exploring in the woods and get lost, except we totally won’t get lost because I’m much more Pierre than Paulette and Pierre is way too smart to get lost in the woods.”
#lmao it's fine#peridot is p bad at reading human emotions#so she isn't too bothered#jacefcksh#( talk too much. convo )

“Oh. Well I suppose she should see better people then. Although I can’t believe she chose not to be symmetrical. That sounds hideous.” Not only would two metal arms be better practically, it would just look better. “Movie? That’s like the television but longer right?” Steven had mentioned it to her briefly, but Peridot had no interest in watching anything other than Camp Pining Hearts. “Well it doesn’t make any sense. Why would a robot waste their time being a cop? That’s a complete waste of potential. They’d be much better working as a technician than bothering with law enforcement.”
— “ Well, she didn’t make it - she went to a specialist and they attached it for her. Apparently she couldn’t choose between a ‘natural’ looking one and a giant metal one, so she got one of each. “ The brunettes eyebrows furrowed as she looked over the other girls face with that of disbelief. “ You don’t know who ‘Robo Cop’ is ? He’s a character from the movie, ‘Robo Cop.’ He’s a robotic cop - it’s actually pretty to-the-point. “ A small giggled escaped through her pink lips as she held her hands in front of her skirt.

“Usually I have a program for second opinions. Opinions aren’t always correct after all.” Computers were much more reliable. Maybe she’d have to start making some better ones now that she was stuck on this planet. “But the technology here is so far behind I doubt I can find something with the information I need, so I will be trusting your opinion instead. You should be honored.”
He laughs. He never heard art called meep morps before, but he won’t question it. He’s seen a lot of weird in his time here. “I find second opinions catch what your mind cannot.” He gets up and shuts his sketchbook.

There was a beat of silence. “I don’t know any of those places.” It was easy to admit. She didn’t care to learn a lot of the earth cities. “An alien, anyone from off planet. I’m not talking about this place in the sense of the city, that’s too small. I’m talking about the whole world! Earth had a lot of resources, so logically it would make sense to that and overtake the place, especially since humans are so behind technologically. It would make everything very easy.”
“Middle Earth is my home. Well actually I was born in the Blue Mountains but it’s located in Arda” He looks so confused. “What? No I’m a Khazâd or dwarf for those who speak English and what’s an alien? I don’t want to take over. As much as this place is cool I don’t to be here either. I need to be back in Erebor with my family.” He looks so confused.

“Well because you look like all the other humans obviously. Is that another planet.? Oh my gosh, are you not from earth?” It certainly wasn’t some place registered in Homeworld’s database, Peridot had that memorized after all, but she was interested.
“Why do assume I was born here? Cicero was born in Cyrodill which is in Nirn. Not this stupid place.” He gets bored of balancing the branch and throws it like a boomerang.

marigold had indeed heard the other’s words, believing that they were speaking to anyone but her. time, however, allowed the young woman to see that the stranger had indeed been talking to her – yet she had not wanted to speak with them. a nagging feeling of guilt tugged at her heartstrings. maybe they needed to know something important. and, so, marigold allowed her steps to slow in time with the others impending footsteps. “video stories?” what was the stranger going on about??? physical color modifiers? paint? there had to be only one thing they were speaking of… “i’m not good with social media.” marigold shook her head. that had to be what the stranger was talking about, right???
she should have been confused, should have been questioning how the girl got from camp pining hearts and paint to social media, but peridot’s focus wasn’t really great. she just latched onto the stranger’s words and went from there. “you aren’t? well that’s something you need to work on. it’s very popular on this planet you know.” it was also one of the first earth things peridot had felt like she was good at, which made it very important to her. “in fact, you should follow me on twitter. i’m hilarious and very popular. it’s also very useful for logging if you do important things and need to keep track of them like i do.”

Jace was wandering around the streets, trying to find something to do. He had a love hate relationship with Seattle, and this was one of the times that he hated it. When there was nothing to do, he got bored and frustrated. Hearing someone calling out, he slowed his fast pace to a slower one, turning to face her once she caught up. He listened to her demands with his arms crossed over his chest, an amused smirk on his face. “Okay, well first of all, I don’t know what camp pining hearts is, so you’re on your own for that one. As for the paint, there’s probably a store nearby that you can to and get your own. There are about a million colors to choose from, so go pick a color and get your own paint. I’m not a servant of yours.”
had she done something wrong? he seemed rather annoyed with her but even as peridot sat and ranked her brain she couldn’t come up with a proper reason for why. “of course you aren’t. you don’t look anything like a pearl after all.” she laughed slightly at what she considered to be a joke, knowing that of course the human wasn’t a pearl, and that she wasn’t high up enough in rankings to get a pearl anyway. “but!” her voice got louder as she tried to get back on track. “you are a human and they’re usually uh....nice, to the point of a fault really, but that means since i’m lost and everything you basically have to help me.”

evan was a naturally anxious person, but this was his worst nightmare. he couldn’t remember how he arrived in seattle, his mother was probably about to have a heart attack, and to top it all off, he couldn’t get in contact with ANYONE. no jared, no alana, no zoe? wonderful. fantastic. extraordinary! maybe if he just laid down and died he’d calm down for at least a second. stop shaking. stop shaking! oh, SUPER, new person asking him of certain things he CLEARLY can’t do! hooray! “ im– “ pause, inhale. “ ..what? i don’t– why are you asking me to get you paint? and take you to a campsite? what? ” pause, wipe your sweaty hands on your jeans. “ i mean, i clearly can’t help you, you think i’m capable of doing that? why can’t you just… i don’t know, get it yourself? “
peridot tilted her head, just staring at the stranger for a few seconds. what a weird human. the way he talked was almost eccentric in a way that reminded her of herself but there was also something nervous to it that threw her off. “why would i want to go to a campsite?” she couldn’t even begin to understand where he got the connection. she just wanted to watch fake people and they’re troubles at a camp, obviously. “if i knew where it was would i be going around asking people. i’m conversing with you because i haven’t learned all the places in this new location yet. i suppose if you’ve done some detailed mapping yourself that could also be helpful to me.”

wcterwitch:
twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, lapis was ALWAYS freaking out. has she always been like this, or did peridot rub off on her back at the barn? she was stressed during the war, stressed while in the mirror, stressed when jasper and her fused to get back at the crystal gems, stressed when literally anything happened on earth— GOD, just remembering these events gave her a migraine. seattle was like… a breath of fresh air. sure, there was too many people and it was far too loud for her liking, but there were absolutely NO crystal gems and diamonds on her ass. she could rest easy! well, she didn’t sleep, but she could sit and meditate peacefully! today was especially busy, however, and the water gem had a feeling her pulsing headache was only going to get WORSE. pushing her way through the crowd, she found a somewhat empty area underneath a lamp post and decided once she arrived she’d rest her head and feet… only to be recognized before she could get there. how? HOW? for once in her life, she was alone! now, she had to deal with fucking… oh, it was peridot. lapis actually liked peridot’s company and missed her too! lapis’ first instinct was to turn and fly away from company, but instead she stopped– skidding to a halt underneath the light, blue hair lighting up underneath the fluorescent lamp post. too tired to run up to the other gem in slow motion ( like percy and paulette in season three, episode seventeen after the three legged race, an ok episode by lapis’ standards ), she stood and waited with a somewhat relieved smile. she braced for impact in case the green gem decided to hug her aggressively. “ peridot, is that really..?. oh, ok– you’re running really FAST AT ME– SLOW DOWN! “
for a moment peridot really did think it was hopeless, that lapis would run off, she wouldn’t be able to catch up, and she’d lose her one glimpse of her friend in a rush of blue hair. she would blame her desperation to avoid that when she wound up running straight into the other gem. she tried to stop herself, she really did, throwing her hands out into the air and stumbling even more than usual. “slow down walking stumps. slow down!” if she had still had her limb enhancers it might have actually worked. they were very well designed after all. her legs though, were not, and she was still getting used to using them all the time. it almost wasn’t surprising to the gem when she collided with lapis, having none of the means to stop herself. still she picked herself up quickly, hastily moving to pat herself down and hoping that would hide her clear embarrassment over the situation. “um, j-just so you know, that definitely wouldn’t have happened if the crystal clods hadn’t destroyed my limb enhancers, so in a way, they’re at fault here.” at least that sounded easy to believe to peridot. she liked the crystal gems at this point, but they did mess quite a lot up. she paused, still feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable for a moment before throwing her hands up with a grin. “it’s all alright though! we can redo it. we can go somewhere nice, not surrounded by clods, and i’ll get my movement stubs under control. it will be a perfect reunion episode.”
