Top Ten Performing Smartphone For August 2018 Listed By AnTuTu

As we all know that that AnTuTu is a benchmark site for smartphones which measures the performance of smartphones made by different manufacturers. AnTuTu releases its list of best smartphones from time to time. AnTuTu has released its most recent list of performance ranking of devices and guess which device is at the top. It is no other then the Xiaomi‘s Black Shark which is a gaming smartphone which is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 8GB/6GB RAM. The device has scored 292,887 score on AnTuTu. Xiaomi Black Shart uses liquid cooling and prevents it from heating up.

The second highest performing device also comes from Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu. Meizu’s 16 which has been recently launched also comes with Snapdragon 845 with 4/6/8GB variants. Meizu 16 also uses liquid cooling technology. Meizu 16 was able to score 291,025 points. Although there is another version Meizu 16 Plus but it was not listed in the list due to insufficient sampling. Since this device is more powerful then the Meizu 16 it is expected that Meizu 16 plus will have better benchmark scores.

Ranked at number 3 is Smartisan Nut R1 with 289,490 points. This device is limited to Chinese market only. Vivo NEX is on 4th position with a score 286,286 and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is ranked on 5th position with 286,268 which is slightly lower than the Mi 8 Explorer. OPPO Find X is on the sixth position with at a benchmark score of 285,344 points.  OnePlus 6 was able to secure 7th position on the list.

One of the most surprising thing to note in this list is that top seven positions are taken by Chinese manufacturers and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was able to secure 8th position. These positions are only temporary because more devices like Meizu 16 Plus, Nubia Z18 are expected to hit the market before December. This will push some of the listed device further down the list.

Another surprising fact to note here is that Huawei which uses its own Kirin processors was not able to get listed in top ten devices. But this is temporary because it is expected that Huawei will launch its Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro in November and these devices will definitely get listed in top ten position.

Huawei Introduced GPU Turbo Technology For Mate And Honor Devices

Huawei has introduced GPU Turbo Mode for its devices. The GPU Turbo Mode is a new technology which will allow graphics processing acceleration. The technology was first introduced for Honor 10 through EMUI beta update last week. Today the He Gang the President for mobile phone product line announced the release of GPU Turbo Mode technology for Huawei Mate 10 series. The Mate 10 series will get this upgrade directly through Huawei Mobile Services app.

  The P20 series, Mate RS Porsche Design, Nova 2S, and MediaPad M5 tablets in July. Nova 3e, Enjoy 8 Plus, Enjoy 7S, and Mate 10 Lite will all receive the software will get the update in August, while the Mate 9 series will get this update in September.

The technology will result in a improved system graphics processing power. According to Huawei GPU Turbo Mode will result in an increase in efficiency of around 60% while improving the frame rate with an increase of up to 77%; resulting in smooth gaming experience.  Further the GPU Turbo Mode will optimize games which previously did not support HDR image quality, this will enhance the graphics quality of games while effectively increasing game details and a better gaming experience for the users.

Huawei has also announced the complete list of Huawei devices that will get this new feature through scheduled update. The users will get this update on their devices through a regionally scheduled rollouts. As per the official information the new GPU Turbo will improve the graphics processing by removing the bottleneck between the EMUI operating system, the GPU and the CPU.

Xiaomi is launching device after device in a row. Xiaomi who recently launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A in China is working on its new device  with model number M1807E8S which is rumored to be Mi Max 3. The device was recently passed 3C certification. Although there were no specification details found in 3C certification but a recent  leak has revealed the specification of a device which is allegedly Mi Max 3.

After a successful sale of Mi Max 2, Xiaomi has decided to launch is successor with some major upgrades. The Mi Max 3 will come with a full screen display design which has become a new industry trend. The device will have 6.99 inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor which has AI features. This is the same processor that has been used in Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 unlike its predecessor Mi Max 2 will have a dual camera setup on the back. Although the camera details are still not known but it is expected that the device will come with a 20 megapixel Sony IMX363 which has been used in Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2s. The device will have a 16megapixel secondary camera.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will come in two variants 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage and the second variant will have a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The device will come with MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The device is powered by a 5500mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging due to Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The handset will have dual speakers, wireless charging and fingerprint sensor and iris scanner on the pack panel. This information is based on leaked firmware files and details that surface on  Weibo. Xiaomi through their official Weibo account has confirmed that the company will be launching a new device tomorrow. It is expected that Xiaomi will be launching its Redmi 6 device in China. The device was earlier spotted on TENNA which is a certification website. Xiaomi Redmi 6 has already passed the certification and it is fair to expect that Redmi 6 is the device that Xiaomi is planning to launch.

The TENAA has listed this device as M1805D1SE. Redmi 6 weighs 178 grams and 149.33 x 71.63 x 75mm dimensions. The first impression of the backside of Redmi 6 looks similar to Redmi Note 5 Pro having vertically aligned dual camera with LED flash in the center. Users can also find a fingerprint sensor on the backside.

Redmi 6 has a notched 5.84 inch screen with Full HD+ resolutions and pixel density of 2280 x 1080 pixels. The device has a metal body back with antenna lines on both top and bottom of the device. The device will come with octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. Like many other Xiaomi device it is expected to come in different variants with 2/3/4GB of RAM and 16/32/64GB of internal storage.

Redmi 6 is first budget device by Xiaomi which will have a notched display design. The device will have a dual 12 megapixel on the back and a 5 megapixel front camera. Redmi 6 will be powered by a 3,900 mAh battery.

Honor which is a subsidiary of Huawei but launches its own branded phone seems to be concentrating on introductory and mid range devices. We have recently seen that the Honor released several devices including Honor 7x, Honor 7C and Honor 7A. Although all these devices are almost similar with some minor changes and a little difference in prices. Honor has now introduced Huawei Honor 7 which is an introductory level of phone.

It seems that even Huawei Honor was not even excited about this device as the device was released quietly. The device on first look seems identical to Honor 7C and Honor 7A but if you see the back unlike these phones Honor 7 has a single rear camera. Honor has used minimalist design with curved sides to make sure that the device fits into your palm.

Honor 7 comes with full view 5.45 inch display  with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440×720 resolution. The device has thickness of 8.3mm. Huawei Honor 7 has a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core 1.5GHz processor, PowerVR GE8100 GPU. The device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD card.

Honor 7 has a single 13MP rear camera with PDAF, HDR and 4x digital zoom features and on the front the device has 5MP camera with MEI Beauty feature. The device has 3020mAh battery which can easily power the device for a whole day.

The Honor 7 is a low end device which has full view display features and a minimalist design similar to other Huawei and Honor devices but the device has a single rear camera and there is no fingerprint reader which might disappoint some of the users. But the Huawei Honor 7 is priced at $94 which justifies the missing features. The Huawei Honor 7 will become available in the markets starting from May 22.

A latest leak revealed some of the specification of HTC’s upcoming flagship device HTC U12. It seems that HTC which was once leading smartphone manufacturer has been slow in introducing its new devices. In fact HTC till date has not introduced a new device this year. The new leak which surfaced on Verizon’s official website revealed  specification of upcoming HTC U12.

According to the specs sheet the device will come with some interesting features which include Super WQHD 6 inch display with Gorilla glass protection. The device will be capable of recording videos with 4K resolution.

There is no information about RAM, internal storage and the processor. It will be interesting to see what other features are included in the upcoming flagship device by HTC. We will have to wait for some other leaks to know these features but it seems that HTC U12 will be a device worth the wait.

The Huawei Honor 7A is a mid ranger device which has almost all the latest features which are becoming a trend. The device has a 5.7″ FullView Display with ultra high screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 1440x720p. Other features include a dual front and rear camera setup, facial recognition, rear mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. The Huawei Honor 7A will have a unibody metal design.

Although the render suggest that the device will have a 5.7 inch display and dual front camera but our reports confirm that the device will have a 5.99inch HD+ display and a single lens 8MP camera. Honor 7A will be powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery with 20 days standby time.

Huawei P20 Lite will have a dual 16MP rear camera which is Leica co-developed and will have the hybrid zoom capabilities. The device will come with EMUI 8.0 over Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The device will be powered by a 3520mAh battery. There is still no information about the release date or pricing but as the name suggest the device will fall in mid-range pricing.

ASUS which is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has announced two devices at MWC 2018. Both ZenFone 5Z, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5 Lite come with bezeless display with large aspect ratio. The devices have minimal borders.

ZenFone 5z comes with a 6.2 inches Full HD+ Super IPS+  screen 19:9 aspect ratio display with a barely noticeable display and a notch similar to iPhone X on the top side. LG Announced 2018 Versions Of LG K8 And LG K10 Will Be Unveiled At MWC

LG is expected to unveil its premium smartphone under a different name then G7 at MWC 2018. It seems that LG has taken a smart move by announcing to unveil advanced versions of its mid-end device K8 and K10 models at MWC 2018.

Both the device were introduced in 2016 and then enhanced version were released in 2017. Now LG has decided to further enhance the devices and launch them under the same name. LG K8 and LG 10 have been very successful as mid-end devices.

LG K8 (2018) Features

It was surprising to see that LG K8 which previously had a 1.4GHz Quad-core processor in 2017 version has been replaced by a mysterious 1.3GHz Quad-core processor.  Which means it will either be Snapdragon 425 or MTK MT 6737.

LG K8 (2018) will come with 5 inch IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. LG K8 (2018) will come in three different colors, Terra Gold, Moroccan Blue and Aurora Black. The device will have Flash Jump Shot feature, low-light noise reduction and selfie flash. LG K8 will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The device will have an 8 MP rear and 5MP front camera.

The device will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat and host a removable Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery. The device will have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, bluetooth 4.2,  GPS, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, USB On-The-Go connectivity options.

LG K10 (2018) Features

LG K10 (2018) has more enhanced features as compared to its previous version.  Although the LG K10 has the same Mediatek MT6750 Octa-core processor in 2017 version  and the same 5.3 inch display, there have been some improvement in Camera and RAM.

LG K10 (2018) will come with a 13MP rear and 8MP front camera.  LG K10 (2018) will also come in three different colors, Terra Gold, Moroccan Blue and Aurora Black. LG K10 (2018) will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The device will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat and host a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. The device will have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, bluetooth 4.2,  GPS, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, USB On-The-Go connectivity options.

Nokia will have its presence at MWC 2018 and it will not be surprising to see a couple of Nokia smartphone device at this event. As MWC 2018 is coming close more and more devices are being leaked and this time it is Nokia 7 Plus which is expected to be unveiled by Nokia at MWC 2018 along with much awaited Nokia 9.

Our favorite technology reporter Evan Blass was able to get some latest render images of upcoming Nokia 7 Plus. The Nokia 7 Plus will have a 6.0 inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2160 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device will have a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Nokia 7 Plus will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core processor. The device will come in two variant 4GB RAM/64 GB internal storage and 6GB RAM/64 GB internal storage. Nokia 7 Plus will come with microSD slot which can host a memory card up to 256 GB storage.

The device will come with dual camera sport 12 MP + 13 MP, dual pixel phase detection autofocus and 2x optical zoom. The main feature of Nokia 7 Plus camera is that it is made by Carl Zeiss optics, which is well known for its high quality camera lenses.

Nokia 7 Plus will have connectivity option like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, GPS, NFC, USB On-The-Go, FM radio and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. The device. The device has fingerprint sensor which is mounted on rear panel. Other sensors include accelerometer, proximity, gyro and compass.  Nokia 7 Plus will be powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3,300mAh battery and fast battery charging (18W, 9V/2A). The device will run on Android 8.0 (Oreo).

Although there are no official words about plans to unveil the device but there are lots of rumors that claim that the device will be unveiled at MWC 2018 in Barcelona along with Nokia 9.

A Leaked Video Revealed That Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Will Come With Gestures Similar To iPhone X

Xiaomi has been busy in unveiling its wide range of smartphones recently. According to rumors Chinese phone manufacturer is currently working on its premium smartphone Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. The device is an upgraded version of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S discovered by XDA Developers based on firmware files obtained by XDA Senior Member duraaraa.

A recently leaked which shows a hands on experience with Mi Mix 2S and shows iPhone X like gesture features.  The video was posted by OnPhones on YouTube, you can check it out on youtube.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is somewhat similar to Mi Mix 2 but it will come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and suggested to have gesture features like iPhone X. The device will come with a truly bezel-less 5.99 inch FHD+ display with 2160 x 1080 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will come with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.  The device will come with MIUI 9 and will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It is also rumored that the device will have Android One version similar to the previously launched Xiaomi Mi A1.

Mi Mix 2S will come with AI supported vertically aligned dual rear camera that which allows the device to differentiate between different objects like humans, animals, flowers, and building and then automatically adjust the pictures. This feature is not new as it was introduced by Huawei in Mate 10.

There are rumors that the device will be unveiled at MWC 2018 and these rumors are backed by the fact that Xiaomi will have its presence at MWC 2018 and its premium device Xiaomi Mi 7 is not expected to be unveiled until April 2018. It is expected that the company will launch its Mi Mix 2S at MWC 2018 in Barcelona.
