I think its really funny how people got mad at the story of 28 years later and are calling it disappointing, probably because it didn't have much to do with war and killing zombies and was overall a much more contained story about a kid and his dying mother, which is funny considering the first movie in the series was a fairly contained story about a group of survivors trying to find peace in the apocalypse, 28 days is known for its eerie, quiet shots of Jim walking around a completely empty London and the apocalypse "ends" from natural causes by the end of the film, it's only in 28 weeks where themes of war really come in and there's a reason why it's the least popular of the series, it's filled with explosions and huge action set pieces yet the most memorable part of the story is the family drama in the beginning of the movie

It's also funny to me because 28 years itself seems to be saying "why are we trivializing death and celebrating war? why are we teaching young boys to behave violently?" the heavily stylized, flashy zombie killing scenes go away once Spike steps out on his own, the movie emphasizes the teachings of Spike's dad and the town as being wrong so he chooses to go against them, it's only once he goes off on his own that he learns the reality of death, I think the themes of war and violence are gonna make a return in the next two movies as the underlying theme of this trilogy as a whole but for this movie it was important for Spike to learn this lesson about death in a way that wasn't flashy or loud

The ONLY gripe I have with 28 Years Later is that it didn’t have The Guitar Riff like the other two films. I adored the audio choices they did make as it set the tones and scenes as intended (the recording of Boots sets my teeth on edge in a way I cannot describe). However the rock song they did use where the theme would’ve been built up felt reminiscent of it- so I can’t complain too hard.

Complimented a pretty woman’s outfit today and as we both parted ways she turned to the guy she was with and went “they liked my outfit!” All excited. It’s the little things

Albuterol inhalers have the side effect of making me incredibly shaky. I had to do a breathing treatment when I went in for a bad asthma flare up so I had ten straight minutes of inhaling that shit. Not even fifteen minutes after that’s over I’m in line at the pharmacy shaking like an overcaffinated chihuahua with my friend trying not to laugh at me :(

I’m sorry I couldn’t afford healthcare/insurance for years my dude. I very literally ran out of my meds and only have an emergency inhaler that expired in 2021. What do you want from me? I’m here now.

Okay so just to sum up recent events on the US Right:

• Trump starts a contract with Peter Thiel's Palantir company to create a database of ALL INFORMATION on EVERY LIVING AMERICAN

• Its revealed Stephen Miller and Elon Musk have had a very massive fight, supposedly because Elon Musk is sleeping with Miller's wife

• Trump ousts Elon from the administration, after over five months of being besties. Leaves with Stephen Miller's wife, who he just hired at one of his companies (!?)

• Elon starts saying the Big Beautiful Bill sucks

• A GOP Representative reveals that most of them didnt actually get to read the Big Beautiful Bill, GOP leadership basically made them rubber stamp it and they are pissed to find out it makes them all look horrible. A lot of them are now discussing a shakeup in GOP leadership.

• Trump says Elon has "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (🤮)

• Elon escalates massively, stating that Trump is in the Epstein files and THATS why they havent released them yet

• This comes right as Alex Jones loses a massive chunk of his audience because he's endorsing Trump's Palantir contract, and his fans are basically all very concerned about their privacy. They want a new conspiracy to follow and they just got one

• Trump starts threatening Elon's government contracts

• Ian Miles Cheong calls for Trump to be impeached immediately, and for JD Vance to become President. Elon Musk quote retweets this with "Yes"

• JD Vance was mentored by Peter Thiel

• Steve Bannon takes to Fox calling for the immediate deportation of Musk, and making SpaceX a public company
