Final Pitching: We have finished presenting to the panel our very own product. It was successful presentation for us since we have presented what we really prepared for this event. It has been a long journey for us but then we have finished what we started. Everything was good.

For the comments of the panel, we really learnt something from it and we might also use it for future innovations. It has been a long journey and ended so well. We had learnt a lot from this journey and this might not be the end for the innovations. This might be the very start to begin some new innovations that will be neede for future uses in life.

In this week we had so many preparations for the final pitching. We also prepared a lot for our prototype. We have searched for a fabricator so that we could explain to him our product and he would fabricate it for us. we also have searched for the possible materials which will be used for our prototype.

Next is that we have validated our problem for the possible customers and we also reached the quota for our validation. We will be using our gathered informations from the possible customers so that it could help for our final pitching.

Lastly is the preparations for our final pitching and also the pitch deck.

Validation. In this week, we had interviewed more people and most of them have the ages ranging from 13 to 23. We conducted our interview at the usual place where we are always at, it is at the Limketkai Mall. Most of our interviewees are students, some of them loves traveling with their families or even friends. Some also go on camps so they really need to pack things which are needed for the camp usually the clothes and food. Most of them really need something where they could put and organize their things.

Week 9. February 13, Wednesday, we had an activity which is the business model canvas. We have prepared some materials to do this activity it is the manila paper, marker, tapes and sticky notes.

This business model canvas answers the following questions: what are the key partners, key activities, key sources, value propositions, relationships, channels, suctomer segments, cost structure and last is the revenue streams. There's a need of brainstorming in this activity.

In this week, we have interviewed random people and our target was the people who loves to travel or even go on campings and people who have cars. Since it was just a random interview, some of the people doesn't have cars or doesn't go on campings and traveling. As we had interviewed more people we have concluded that our product is useful more specifically to women since most of women are organize.

Pitching time ! As me and my partner started the pitch, we are quiet nervous in front of the panel but in the middle of our presentation we overcome it. After our presentation was the question and answer, we had answered all the questions given and also we had some advises and suggestions given by the panel. Overall it went well for our presentation. 

 We will be using the advises an suggestions from the panel so that we could really make our product work and also make it better. On the other hand, we really felt so lost after the presentation, we also need some improvements for our product. 

The next day, Saturday, we had a symposium about the Intellectual Property. The topic was quiet important since we are making a product we could apply for an Intellectual property so that the our idea will be our own. It was interesting to know about it.

Midterm week. It is a busier week for us since it is the examination week and also projects and PIT's deadline are approaching really fast. This week is also our pitching. We practiced a lot for our pitching. Me and my groupmate, Rene Michael will be the pitchers representing our group. Since our scheduled time for our pitching had a conflict with our class from another subject, there is a rescheduling for the pitch. Since it was rescheduled we had some extra time for further preparations for the pitch.

In this week we had a lot of preparations to do especially for the upcoming pitching. We have to prepare our pitching deck to be used for our midterm exam which will be our pitch. 

 We had some revisions on our product, it was the underground floodwater system. Now we decided to make it a water harvesting and treatment of water so that it could be reusable and could be distributed to household. So we searched for the possible materials to be used, tools and expenses for this project, suddenly we found out that the water filtration is expensive enough that the users could possibly decline using this. 

 Since we decided to make the rainwater into a drinkable water, it would really pass through some processes which enable it to be safe to drink. There would be also a need to test the output to secure the safety of the possible users. In this regards we decided to have a twist and think of a new product because it would really be hard to achieve this product as we need enough time for this. 

 After a great brainstorming, we finally came up with a new product which is the foldable cabinet. The problem we are trying to solve here is the difficulty of some travelers or even campers to organize their things and belongings. Our possible customers with this product is the travelers, campers and car owners. On the same day, we also validated our product to our possible customer since we changed our topic we really need to strive to make our pitch deck also.

It was before our break that we decided for our initial product and we also had some other options in case it won't work. As we thought of our initial product, we thought that it won't really work for is since it is not our expertise. We came up to a new product which is the underground floodwater system. 

This is our back up product in case of emergency. In this week, we had our proposals for our product. As we present it, it was alright, we had some talks about it with our instructor and we are also open for some revisions on it. Since we had a short time thinking about we should have some revisions or any add ons for it. 

As we had our meeting, we thought that if we add some of the ideas to our product, it would really become a bigger scope since it is a water system. So in connection with this, we decided to have some back ups again in case it wont be that easy to attain this. 

Each one of our group members was tasked to do some interviews which will be needed. We had to know what are the problems on the society especially in construction.

In this week, rhe discussion was about innovation, it means that it is a change that adds value. We realized that our product doesn't need to be related in technology but then it focuses on our field of work. It is the innovation in the field of civil engineering, it is the innovations that would solve the problems on our society. 

 As we go on with the discussion, we had some realization about our own product. We have thought pf some other ideas for the innovations since we thought that it was hard to make something or a product in connection with technology and related to our field in civil engineering. We felt the relief after hearing the discussion for the innovations. 

 At the same time, we already jad some interviews on 8 people as for confirming some problems. It was the validation of our previous product which is the website. Some of them confirmed about it. 

As we go on, we might continue this but also think of another options to be considered. So as for this week we had some meetings, we made some brainstorming since we have decided to continue our product. There will be a need to study on how to make a website. We barely need to  double our time with this to meet our targets.

Several years ago, most of the ordinary people used to hire carpenters to build their houses. They hire usually some experienced carpenters rather than the engineers. Most houses back then were made of wood or some light materials. Some of it may last long but some are not that is why houses nowadays are concrete, considering also the uncontrollable natural phenomenons.

 Most of the houses nowadays are concrete but problems may still occur. Some of the problems are the presence of  termites, malfunctioning of gutters due to clogs, water leaks from the roof when raining and etc. Problems occur usually on old or aged houses or not well-planned houses. 

 Some people rely on carpenters than on engineers, first is because they haven't known any engineer , next is that they just used to hire carpenters easily and lastly us due to budget. Mostly are preferring engineers but then they cant easily find one or they always think of that engineers should be well-payed but they dont have enough budget for it. 

 As we get to have an interview with the people or possible customers, we found out that most of them would really prefer engineers but then they depend on their budget. According to one of our interviewee, he would prefer engineer to build houses than on carpenters. If it's only a one-storey residential house it is okay for carpenters to do it but then if it's 2-storey or more, it would really be for engineers because that is their profession, to plan, estimate and more. Lastly, most of the interviewees don't have an easy access to find engineers.
