Robocop Gameboy Theme by Jonathan Dunn TECHNOIR edit
The point of this video is that the soundtrack by Jonathan Dunn, who composed the Robocop theme for the Gameboy was taken by Ariston for their Cycle commercial of 1992. This is the first track. The second track is the actual version as heard on the Gameboy, recorded from an actual Gameboy. Famously, the ad agency did the same for their ad, known as 'Cycle' but more often known as 'Ariston and On and On'; not to be confused with the 'Da-Da-Da parody' at the start. There wasn't room for it here but will stick in a part 2 to come. This ad is a rip off, I mean inspired by Zbigniew Rybczyńsk' s 'Tango', which was the first Polish short animated film to win an Oscar, up against Raymond Briggs' 'The Snowman' I believe that year. When Rybczyńsk won, he marched out of the ceremony, Oscar statuette in hand, for a celebratory gasper. So, the legend goes, after he finished his cigarette, he was denied entry back to the ceremony. Legend has it, he brandished the Oscar and said ' You American pigs, I won the Oscar!' to no avail. Legend!
