was that DYLAN O’BRIEN walking around the halls of hogwarts? i wish it was them, but it was really just THEODORE TONKS, the SEVENTEEN year old SEVENTH year student at hogwarts. they come from a MUGGLEBORN family, and people tend to describe them as PASSIONATE, DISCERNING, INSECURE and DUPABLE. they can be seen around hogwarts hanging in the HUFFLEPUFF common room and in THE HERBOLOGY CLASSROOM. i hear they’re planning on REMAINING NEUTRAL once the war starts and that they’re planning on KEEPING QUIET ABOUT IT. i can’t wait to see how this turns out for them.

theodore edward tonks ( ted ) was raised by his muggle parents in a small village in godstone, surrey, england. he was the youngest and only son; having three sisters. his mum sort of babied him growing up, which did not sit well with his sisters. the three girls were relentless with their teasing. they made little ted the butt-end of their jokes and silly pranks, but he did alright. they caused him to grow a thick skin.

when he received his hogwarts letter his dad nearly threw it away. muttering something like,  “it’s rubbish”. it took minerva mcgonagall, herself, to inform the news to the tonks. ted still remembers his mum nearly falling backwards out of shock. thankfully, his parents were quite accepting after that. his sisters though? not so much.

it wasn’t until he was older that he realized exactly why his sisters were so vile. it was out of mere jealousy. it started with their mum giving him all the attention as a child, and then quickly manifested further when they found out he possessed magic. he was the only sibling, after all, to have the gift. green was a nasty color on them, and though it took ted years to forgive, he did.

hogwarts was mind boggling. he was like a kid in a candy store, all wide-eyed and buoyant. though it was all fascinating, he had a shit-ton of catching up to do academically. luckily for him, he was sorted into hufflepuff -- the just and loyal. there, he was welcomed by his fellow badgers and a new home.  his sweet nature and goofy smile gained little ted many admirers from all houses.

however not everyone was friendly. no, he was quickly introduced to the ugly term 'mudblood' and it stung. he didn’t like what the word meant one bit. still, ted was not a fighter and he often took the bullying without any resistance. 

the moment he got on a broom was the moment he felt like he truly belonged. it was frightening as hell at first, but once he got the hang of it, no one could stop him from soaring high through the air. it was his own solace away from all the noise. and then ignited his conquest. he began pestering all his peers about quidditch. needing to know everything there was about the sport. it was new and exhilarating, and when ted wanted to master something, he dived in head first. it was during his third year, that he made hufflepuffs team as chaser. he wasn’t the teams obvious first choice — at least not with his short stature and thin frame ( before his growth spurt obv ), but his technique and fast reflexes were indistinguishable. 

now onto his personality: he has a soft soul. kind, open-minded, passionate, —too loyal for his own good.  he tries his hardest to see the best in everyone, something that usually backfires in his face. this soft spot makes him easily fooled by others.  my boy is just so damn naive. despite this, ted will go to great lengths to help his friends. he cannot stand for anyone being mistreated. it’s just when things are pointed at himself that he takes the blows.

when talk is spurred around the upcoming war, he goes mute. nearly begging for anyone else to take charge of the conversation and never once adds his own inquiry. ted would rather be in denial than face the fact that his world is in turmoil. it’s a bit of a defense mechanism? he doesn’t favor conflict, but it is only a matter of time before he will be forced to pick a side . . . he just wants everyone to make it out alive.
