what's that one thing where they asked how ripely from alien was so realistic and believable as a female character in scifi for once and they were like "well we just took the dude from the original script and made him a girl and changed nothing else. it works bc men and women are the same?" and people were like "woah no way" and then didn't learn anything from that for 20 years

the kamala harris campaign was so bad it's crazy. like setting aside all my loonie leftie purity testing positions like "genocide is bad" for a second, even setting aside the fact that biden hideously sabotaged it by demanding the campaign not do anything that might make him look bad like, say, 'promise any differences at all from his unpopular administration' -- the pivot to immigration hawkishness was unbelievably stupid. trump is the ultimate issue owner on immigration, you are never, ever, going to convince someone whose main worry is about Evil Illegal Immigrants Taking Jobs and Doing Crime, to vote for you over donald trump on that basis. kamala harris could have filmed herself executing undocumented children with a shotgun and it would not have moved the needle on this, so all that these ads achieved was affirming for such voters that The Border was the Big Issue of this election and so that they should vote for the Border Wall Guy.

& again i am saying this from the point of view of my electoral politicsona, this is all, yknow, fairly within the purview of uncontroversial liberal polsci shit. Legendarily bad campaign, in any sensible world these people would never be allowed to touch electoral politics again. let alone what would happen to them in any Just world

making art sites that don't allow NSFW is useless to me. not even to get my rocks off, i mean at this point not allowing NSFW ends up being a nightmare of random queers getting banned because the guidelines are too ill-defined and art that presents the human body, especially femme and trans, will just get obliterated for no reason despite not being sexual.

all that said the guy with my car insurance company who answered the phone was so fucking funny. he had a heavy Georgia accent which endeared me to him immediately and he was sooo worried about me and apologetic that there was no one to send to my aid and I said "that's okay. if i end up missing though they're gonna interview you as the last person who heard from me. what if there's a documentary?" and he said "ooooooo, can I start drama?" I said, "well, what kind?" And he said, "I'm gonna tell them you said you saw a green flash in the sky over the field and I heard strange voices then the line went dead."
