Rescue Theater 0.5.3 Release

I just released a new version of Rescue Theater. Download it here

This update contains most of the features for the 0.6 release. I decided to release these features now because its been a while since the last update and I still need to add the new characters and new environment. Also, I still plan to polish and tweak the choking scenario a bit more.

3 New Rescue Modes (Access by holding the 'B' key)

Heimlich

Backslaps

Self Heimlich

2 New Modifiers

Iron Lung (Doubles the patient's breath hold time)

Choking (Starts the patient with an airway obstruction. This will be further explained at the bottom of the release notes, as there are a few hidden mechanics here.)

Simulation

If the blood oxygen level goes below 50%, the patient becomes unconscious and their heart starts taking damage. This damage will counteract rescue attempts, so be sure to use the MTM mode to keep this from happening.

The MTM mode no longer works if the patient's airway is obstructed.

Camera

The orbit camera now has different settings for the MTM, Heimlich, Backslaps, and Self Heimlich modes. The camera will automatically swap to these new settings when the mode is entered.

The camera now has a tighter FOV for a more cinematic look.

Environments

The picnic environment was remade from scratch.

Audio

The base ECG volume was doubled. Adjust the audio slider if it is now too loud.

Choking Modifier Explanation

This modifier starts the patient with an airway obstruction. This means they will be unable to breathe on their own and the MTM mode won't work.

This obstruction has a hidden progress bar that must be filled before it is dislodged.

The most effective way to clear this obstruction is with the Heimlich, Backslaps, and Self Heimlich modes.

The use of these modes has a few penalties that must be considered.

These modes have spam protection, so pressing the button as fast as possible is less effective.

There are diminishing returns for using the same mode multiple times in a row. This encourages the player to occasionally swap modes. Feel free to experiment with the best sequence to clear the obstruction fastest.

A less effective way to clear the obstruction is with any of the chest compression modes (Side CPR, Top CPR, and Thumper.) This is slower than the other methods, but it doesn't contain the diminishing returns of using the same mode many times in a row.

The airway obstruction was balanced so that the patient will always enter arrest before the blockage can be cleared. This allows for a more complete rescue. However, if you'd like to be able to save the patient before they pass out, feel free to add the Iron Lung modifier. This will give you plenty of time to clear the obstruction and rescue the patient.
