COVID is slowly becoming a “third world” disease. While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can’t get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.

I love making breeding oopsies with breeds that have long cooldowns...

I was supposed to send these two to a Lightning nest. I only just realized my mistake today...

How did I end up with 3 nests all hatching at once!?!?

A lineage project (run by another user), fodder, and my Ignis nest all at once.
I'm just now realizing that I should have put Seraph on Proxima for angel-winged demon babies...

Updates!
Sorry this blog has been silent. A couple console games that I like had big updates. So, and update post.
1. I got curious about the Ignus lineage and traced it back. Well, an opportunity came up, and I now have a Gen 3 Ignus boy, on the Gaap line. I renamed him, but say "Hi" to Aamon (he used to be Igreigv).
2. I've completed 2 of my breeding pairs, and opened up my hatchery, Scrying Pool. Both pairs are on cooldown, and all of my Faes sold, but I still have a couple Ridgebacks left.
3. My next breeding projects are personal. I'm working on a couple FanDergs.
4. I've been participating in the Vow of Poverty with one of my dragons. I'm linking the thread, so stop by, see if you can help out, or maybe join us yourself.

in the wake of yet another black person being murdered by police, here’s a list of relevant fundraisers and organizations that could use your support right now.
this is specifically a call to action for fellow white people. if you’re white and you’re in any way able to, donate.

Apparently, the way to hatch special eyed babies is talk about how cool they are.

Currently Nesting - Nest1
Scyfax (Imperial) / Sadira (Coatl)
1 egg
What is with the one egg nests? Sadira has a 35 day cooldown, too. Maybe I can find another Imp or Coatl with similar/same coloration? Regardless of the long cooldown or the wegged nest, this pair is a 1 in 12 chance of giving me one half of my new project pair. This is a LOOOONG term project, since it's based on Imps.

New Hatchie

It's a little bittersweet. His colors are almost perfect for the project I was working. But I'm not looking for his colors anymore. Besides the colors, he had the exact genes I figured he would.

Next Nest
Tomorrow, after the Midnight Maintenance, Nest1 will be hatching. I have a 30-day pair for a new project that I'm going to put on the nest, instead of a hail-mary pair of Faes.
This is Scyfax (the Imperial) and Sadira (the Coatl, a pair I picked up to isolate colors for a project that I'm planning to release alongside another I'd had in the works. There's a 1 in 12 chance of getting a hatchie with the exact colors I'm looking for. The best is that this is an Imperial project, and based on predicts most of the offspring will be Imps.

Currently Nesting - Nest3
Peros (Coatl) / Avisa (Coatl)
3 eggs
I unlocked my third nest! Yay! The other pair of Coatls I'm breeding while waiting for project pairs to be ready. These two have closer colors, so their possible-hatchies match up a bit more. Lots of yellows, oranges, and browns. I don't think I saw a predict that I didn't sorta like with this pair. Also, I wish I get a multi-eye hatchie.

Currently Nesting - Nest2
Quetzalkith (Coatl) / Vakarasandi (Coatl)
4 eggs
While I wait for cooldowns and save up for genes (I have two pairs waiting for this), I decided to breed some pretty Coatl hatchlings (I have a soft spot for Coatls and Imperials). I chose this pair for colors. Quetzalkith's tert doesn't really go well, but his basic actually works well here. Dark primary colors, and secondaries that range from purple, to blue, through green, and into the yellow/orange range. There are some dark, mucky colors in there, but more beighter colors. That being said, not all the hatchlings end up with good colors.

New Hatchling

This little one is the result of my Hyperion/Mio pairing. Her colors are close. Very close. I might not use her for the Firefly Fae. I like the pairing of dark Jaguar with light Paint. I'll need to look at her adult Morphology for the final word.

Currently Nesting - Nest2
Sun (Guardian) / Tamra (Guardian)
1 egg
Wegged yet again. This is a Project Pair, and I'm expecting a 1.3% - 33% chance of producing a hatchling that works for the Project. Those chances are a bit low, now that there's only one egg. The baby's colors will definitely be in the range I'm looking for.

I'm going to clear out some of my lair. I've gathered a number of dragons for the Fireflies and Paladins, but now that I've gotten down to looking at how parent color-variety can make my chances drop, I'm seing that most of them won't help. I also need to trim down on some of my impulse buy dragons.
I'm going to keep looking for more dragons close to my needed colors, but I'll need to get more proactive with getting the resources for gene-ing these four dragons. Basically, I need a lot of gems. So there's that, too. I'll still keep this up to date, though.
Next Nest: Sun/Tamra
So, I have two projects for selling hatchlings, the Firefly Fae and Paladin Guardians, and one or two personal projects (those I'll post Scrys of soon). I've decided that I'm going to dedicate my time, and nests, to one project at a time. This also allows me to focus on getting the dragons I need for the active project in my lair, and I can better plan nests.
I'm going to have some list posts soon. Most of these are just for my scatterbrain, but I'll put them here so others can see. If I start following a bad idea, feel free to leave a comment.

Orca/Goldenrod/Goldenrod
Savannah/Facet/Glimmer crr
Sun - Guardian Male
Grey/Yellow/Honey
Metallic/Sludge/Capsule rll
Percent Chance of Needed Hatchling: 1.3333% - 33%
-
Breed/Gene Odds
100% Guardian
Primary: 99% Savannah / 1% Metallic
Secondary: 97% Sludge / 3% Facet
Tertiary: 97% Capsule / 3% Glimmer
Color Spread
Primary: 5 possible colors
Secondary: 5 possible colors
Tertiary: 3 possible colors
75 total color combinations. 1.3333% chance of perfect color combination. 4% chance of single step primary, secondary, OR tertiary variance. 12% chance of single step secondary and tertiary, OR primary and secondary variance. 20% chance of perfect primary OR secondary. 33% chance of perfect tertiary.
-
What does this mean? This pairing, even though their colors are very close, still leaves a lot of room for error. This could be a possibly successful pair, depending on how dead-set I am on each particular color. None of the genes in this pair are what I'm looking for, and both are already the desired breed. Chances could be as low as 1.3333% or as high as 33%.

Planned Pairing and Possible Outcomes
Tasfi - Fae Female
Obsidian/White/Wine
Metallic/Bee/Peacock
Arey - Pearlcatcher Male
Obsidian/White/Buttercup
Metallic/Shimmer/Veined
Percent Chance of Needed Hatchling: <1%
-
Breed/Gene Odds
70% Fae / 30% Pearlcatcher
Primary: 100% Metallic
Secondary: 50% Bee / 50% Shimmer
Tertiary: 90% Peacock / 10% Veined
Color Spread
Primary: 1 possible color
Secondary: 1 possible color
Tertiary: 62 possible colors
62 possible color combinations; 1.6129% chance of each color combination.
-
What does all this mean? In short, these two are a horrible match for my needs.
The biggest problem is Tasfi's tert color. Its almost exactly opposite what I need. This adds a LOT of variance in that last color. Tasfi does have a needed secondary gene, but that limits things even further, to less than 1%.
