reminder since I'm BACK

sometimes I use 'bad words' in my writing - I'm not talking about curse words (and yes those are used to), I'm talking about slurs, I'm talking about ignorant and hateful and hurtful opinions, I'm talking about things that Aren't Nice. Things that are Not Okay in Everyday Life.

remember that this is fiction, these characters are not real, their 'opinions' are fake, they are fictional, they are fantasy

I write for realism even in fiction, I do not write for comfort, I do not write for safety, my blog is not a safe space, it is not fluffy things and magical sparkles, it is not always gentle words and happy endings

"but ed," you say, "if you know these things are Bad, why do you include them in your writing?"

because it is not my job to control what you see and read, that is your responsibility to yourself, it is your responsibility to control what media you consume, if I read something that I know will trigger me, it's my own fault, not the writer's fault

I write for realism, and realism can be ugly, realism can be nasty, even in Hooky-Booky Wild Supernatural Verses, and I do not feel inclined to censor that

your triggers do matter, your triggers are valid, you as a person are valid

install Tumblr Savior and block my 'tw:' tags, this will block posts that contain triggering and unsaviory content I have tagged, I believe there is also a feature on tumblr itself for this that should work for mobile users

remember that I myself am human, I am not perfect, and I may forget things at times and that includes appropriate tags, an additional reason why my spaces are not safe spaces

additonally my blogs are 18+, I am an adult who posts adult writing and content, if you are underaged my writing is not for you

“Hermosa...” His voice drops when he rips the box lid open, letting it tumble to the floor. “Mi hermosa niña, esto es perfecto...” Whispered awe as he runs rough fingers over the delicate carvings of the hilt. Polished and gleaming, reflecting the colors of his insane lights. 

“Como obtuviste esto? Debes ser un fénix, o tal vez estás loco ¿no? Más loco que yo para follar con mi hermana...” Vaas holds it up, feeling the weight of it in his palm. The power of it. Knowing how his sister coveted it only made it better. He was the king. He was the true ruler of the island. Citra was nothing more than snake oil.

Vaas grins at her, a dark and savage light in his eyes, teeth gleaming as his lips curl back. 

“Come sit with me, hermosa. You are deserving a drink, no? Maybe there is also a present for you.”

"Surely you-- I've heard others talk about Christmas for the past near decade I've been here," Her brows furrowed, "It's a gift for a holiday. An excuse to surprise people-- that's not important."

She extended a NEATLY wrapped gift his way, excitement ever present, "Open it, please."

“I am thinking you are a little fucking confused, no? You are saying this shit, my bag, like you are owning this shit.” Vaas chuckles, strolling slowly around the bamboo cage he had tethered the scientist in. “You are owning fucking nothing. You are not even owning yourself. This is my fucking island, amigo. MY! FUCKING! ISLAND!”

Vaas laughs again, turning and picking up the bag his men had ripped from the skinny little man. He hums to himself as he yanks it open, pawing through it. He picks out a vial, holding it up in the harsh floodlight, turning it around in his fingers. 

“What happens if I give this to you, huh? I am fucking wondering.”

"Let me out of this cage!" Jonathan demanded, "You're drug dealers, right? I'll be more profitable free than caged!"

“You are in no place to be making demands, amigo.” Vaas clicks with his tongue, shaking his head as he grins at nothing. “Maybe I am doing what you say…maybe I am not. But here you are, telling me things I do not give a shit about. Where is the fucking proof, huh? Are you thinking I am fucking stupid?”

“I do not pay so much fucking attention, hermosa.” Vaas mumbles, eyes rolling up and then locking on the package in her hands. The knife is dropped to the table and he leans over, snatching it out of her hands like a greedy child. A bright little grin lights up his rough face, tongue sticking out between his teeth.

“What the fuck is it, huh?” Short-bitten nails and dirt caked fingers run over the paper, picking at it. He gives it a little shake, then the pretty wrapping paper is demolished, turning it to confetti that drifts down around them. “I want to FUCKING know!”
