I've come to associate this song with Five and Lila ever since I saw Aidan's playlist. The song is haunting, filled with deep emotion. There is an eerie beauty to the song that reminds me of them holding each other in the greenhouse, a sliver of joy, amidst utter ruin and loss.

The reason those two characters refuse to leave my mind is the operatic nature of the story, filled with dizzying highs and lows, but ending in utter tragedy. Like a rollercoaster you want to keep riding again and again, or a car crash you can't look away from. Drawn to fear, morbidity, and despair, all while desperately trying to escape it in our lives. Such fickle beings we are. Just like Five and Lila, affections and loyalties changing from moment to moment. It is their blatant humanity, in all its vulnerability, chaos, and imperfection that I relate to, adore, and grieve for in their suffering.

So thank you to all the incredible artists on here who depict visions of dreams, and the poets who write love stories of such passion and longing, that keep Five and Lila alive.

I'm not ready to let them go.
