Morning Person vs. Night Owl: Novalynn is up with the sun, making tea and opening the curtains. Erik is the type to groan and pull the blanket over his head — unless she bribes him with coffee and kisses.

Touchy without realizing — He’s constantly finding ways to keep her close. Hand on her lower back in public, an arm slung over her shoulders when they’re sitting, thumb stroking her knuckles while they hold hands.

Piercing & tattoo bonding — Sometimes they’ll spend a slow evening in his shop, him sketching designs in her style, or her sitting beside him while he works on a piece for a client. He loves giving her piercings, not just for the aesthetic, but because it’s his way of adorning her. (She only has her septum, ears and belly button pierced so far)

Protective instincts — If she’s walking on the street, he always makes her take the inside away from the curb. He’s the guy who will pull her gently behind him if someone sketchy passes by. Even in a crowd, he’s either holding her hand or has a hand at the small of her back cause she gets anxious in big crowds. If someone stares too long, he just gives them that look.

Music sharing — He introduces her to heavier music, and she introduces him to Taylor Swift. They end up with a playlist that’s a wild mix of soft acoustic songs and screaming guitar solos. They make playlists for each other — hers are full of soft indie and Taylor Swift, his are a mix of grunge, rock, and the occasional romantic ballad he swears he didn’t put there “on purpose.”

Cooking together — Neither of them are gourmet chefs, but they’ll cook simple things together. He’s in charge of anything grilled, she’s in charge of seasoning. Sometimes they burn things, and it just turns into laughing and ordering takeout.

Private jokes — They have a handful of code words or looks that mean something only to them. Sometimes Erik will smirk at her across a room, and she’ll have to fight not to blush because she knows what he’s thinking.

Comfort habits — When Novalynn is stressed, she tends to curl up with a blanket and tea; Erik will just silently join her, sometimes pulling her into his lap, no questions asked. When he’s stressed, she distracts him with gentle conversation or drags him outside for fresh air. If she’s anxious, he’ll hand her one of his hoodies — oversized, warm, and smelling faintly of his cologne and tattoo ink.

Nicknames — He calls her “Peach,” “Doll,”"babygirl", "my girl",and sometimes “Sweetheart.” She’ll call him “Kiki,” “handsome,” or just “love.”

Lazy nights in — They’ll binge-watch shows in bed, her feet tucked under his thigh for warmth. He’s not huge on TV, but he likes anything that makes her laugh.

Matching Accessories: Erik buys her little septum clickers and belly button rings that match his piercings — subtle couple “jewelry” that only they notice.

Love Notes: She leaves him sweet little handwritten notes in his jacket pockets, and he pretends to be annoyed but keeps every single one in a box in his nightstand.

Her Walking Heater: Novalynn runs cold, so Erik is her personal space heater. At night, he wraps around her like a human weighted blanket, keeping her pressed to his chest. She teases him for being “too warm,” but secretly she can’t sleep without it.

Slow Mornings Together: Erik isn’t a morning person, but if Novalynn wakes up first, she’ll quietly sit on the edge of the bed and play with his hair until he stirs. He opens one eye, grumbles something like “too early, Peach,” and pulls her back into bed.

His Favorite View: She’ll catch him staring at her sometimes when she’s doing the most mundane things—reading, baking, humming to herself—and he’ll just smirk like she’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.

Comfort Before Conflict: If they ever have an argument, Erik hates letting it sit. He needs to resolve it before either of them goes to sleep, because the idea of her falling asleep upset eats at him.

Unspoken Understanding: They have that couple’s intuition—she can tell when he’s stressed before he says a word, and he can tell when she’s anxious before she even realizes. It's her body language.

Little Traditions: On the anniversary of when they met, Erik will take her somewhere new—sometimes it’s a romantic dinner, other times it’s a spontaneous road trip. It’s not about the destination, just about being with her.
