Update:

We've moved hotel rooms, but we're out at the end of the month. I've been accepted to complete training to become a substitute teacher for my county, and I have ~2 months to complete it and take an exam on it.

Our gyn is completely on board for a hysterectomy, and just wants the go-ahead to refer us.

There's a very real chance the mortgage for the house we were raised in has been sold to another company, and they want to 'prove it's inhabited' by essentially breaking and entering. I'm working on it. The house reeks of spoiled food, and I need to air it out so that I can live in the basement.

The mother has done nothing to help this, and apparently her debts have been pulling money from my accounts for months. It took 5 days of badgering for her to make the damn call to figure out what's going on. (3 business days).

I'm tired, and angry, and I'm lashing out at people and driving more recklessly. None of you deserve this, so we're back on an indefinite hiatus.

Hi everyone, unfortunately we'll be having to go on temporary hiatus, for an undetermined amount of time. As such, I'll be halting the queue so that this stays at the top, so it doesn't get lost or seem like we are active.

For context, if you care/want to know:

We are currently living out of a hotel with the mother, and have been since November of 2022. We have a house, are paying mortgage on it, but it's uninhabitable as of right now. The father was a hoarder, we had mice (because of him) for ~4 years, and had raccoons in the attic for at least 6 months.

It's not the safest place to inhabit, especially for two people with mobility issues on a good day.

Unfortunately, we are the only one with a job, and we do not generally make enough to pay the credit card off each month. Money is tight, we cannot hire people to help us. Even if we wanted to, we've already had things thrown away by the last set of people that were hired to help us, things that we didn't want to throw away. (Things may have also been stolen.)

It's a health hazard and overall safety hazard, so we don't want people to come in. There are guns in the house in places we don't know, along with (probably) stray boxes of ammunition, it's a mess.

To restate, this is an indefinite hiatus, not a blog closure or abandonment. We will make sure to delete or hide this post when it is no longer relevant.

It was cold when it came across the grounds of the school, moon high above as he crossed the boundary. He couldn't think of anything other than finding shelter, needing to lick the wounds it bore, and rest. The incident in DC, the failure of Insight, had been weeks ago. His long trek had given him a beating. The boots on the feet were probably the only thing holding them together, letting him stay moving. The serum didn't help much against walking on a broken ankle. Surely it'd healed wrong.

The Soldier had little warning before movement became impossible, only halfway between the boundary and the main building he could see. It could breathe, just enough to not black out. Even the arm would not respond. He fell to the ground moments later, unable to compensate for the weight of it.
