It’s such a hot day that the Crowley family decides to hit the pool in their backyard!

Cheyenne: “Lacey, do you want to go swimming with Mommy and Daddy?”

Lacey: “Um...”

Cheyenne: “Hold on! Here we go!”

Lacey: “Daddy!”

Austin: “It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you.”

Lacey: “Pool.”

Austin: “Oh, I see. You want the little pool. Okay, let’s go over there.”

Lacey: (splash, splash) “Yay!”

She’s not quite ready for the big pool yet! She’s much more content with her kiddie pool, much like Mason was at her age. :D

Lacey is growing! Here she is with her parents on a beautiful fall day.

Cheyenne: “Come on, sweetie. It’s late. You need to get to bed.”

(Lacey looks fussy and starts making gurgling sounds)

Cheyenne: “You want down? Okay, just for a minute.”

It seems Lacey wanted to try to climb the stairs herself. She’s becoming quite the explorer!

(Austin comes into the room)

“Lacey! Come on, it’s time to go to sleep. Play time is over for tonight.”

(sleepy girl falls asleep in daddy’s arms on the way to her room)

Austin: “It’s okay, honey. I’ll feed her this time.”

Cheyenne: “Are you sure? You’re tired, too.”

Austin: “Not as tired as you are. Thanks to this wonderful invention known as a bottle, I can feed our baby, too.”

Cheyenne: “Thank you. I think I better go take a nap.”

Austin: “Hey.” (Austin catches Cheyenne and pulls her close.) “I love you. Thank you for making me a father to two wonderful kids.”

Cheyenne: “I love you, too. And thank you for making me a mother to two wonderful kids. You’ve given me everything I’ve ever wanted.”

(smooch)

Austin: “Your very first Snowflake Day is coming up, Lacey. What should Santa bring you?”

Lacey: (gurgle)

After passing Lacey off to Cheyenne:

Cheyenne: “Well, I was going to rock you to sleep, but it smells like you need a changing first.”

Cheyenne: “There, doesn’t that feel better?”

Lacey: (giggles and coos)

Cheyenne: “Your dad’s right. We should think about what Santa should bring you for your very first Snowflake Day. And your brother, too.”

Austin gently rocks Lacey back and forth.

Austin: “Sleep, little angel. It’s late.”

Cheyenne walks into the nursery. The two converse in whispers.

Cheyenne: “Austin, what are you doing?”

Austin: “I heard Lacey fussing a bit in here and thought I’d check on her. She’s fine, just needed a diaper change.”

Lacey’s eyes open wider.

Cheyenne: “Looks like she’s really awake now.”

Austin: “Why don’t we put her in bed with us? That way we can both rest, and I bet she’ll be out like a light. We used to do that with Mason, remember?”

Cheyenne: “Sure, that sounds good. I’ve missed having a little baby to cuddle with at night.”

All three are asleep in minutes. Sweet dreams!

Cheyenne: “All right, you’re both going to bed. Of all the nights for your father to work late, it has to be when you’re both restless. I think I need sleep more than the both of you combined.”

Lacey naps in Cheyenne’s arms.

She stirs a bit.

Cheyenne (softly): “It’s okay, Lacey. Mommy’s here.”

Cheyenne shifts Lacey in her arms and gazes lovingly down at her. The little one starts to drift off again until the door opens and Austin enters.

Cheyenne: “Did you get Mason down for his nap?”

Austin: “I sure did. Now I’m ready to spend some time with my girls.”

“One of them just woke up from her nap, I think partly because you walked in.”

Lacey reaches her arms out to Austin.

Lacey: “Looks like she wants her daddy.”

Austin: “Come here, princess.”

Lacey coos in Austin’s arms.

Austin: “I know what you want.”

Austin: “She just loves this thing!”

Cheyenne: “She sure does!”
