hii ty for replying to my ask. the hc of tenga coming from the country and having younger siblings is SO ADORABLE! i love his big-brother-personality (it's one of the reasons i think he and chidori work so well together). i'm rly curious abt ur opinions on the parents situation/any other headcanons on their families if u have them? sry if i'm being annoying i just think ur take on kiznaiver is rly interesting ^^

Hmmm other Kiznaiver families? 

I like the idea of Chidori having an older brother who’s several years older than her. He lives in another city and is usually pretty busy but makes time to call his sister and catch up. (Also can you imagine him babysitting tiny Chidori and Katsuhira? Adorable!)

Yuta strikes me as the youngest of the family. He’s slightly spoiled and I could see him feeling really insecure if he had older siblings, especially if they were reasonably popular and good-looking people. They wouldn’t be much older than him, probably just starting university by the time he enters high school. 

Katsuhira is an only child. Or at least I hope he is. Even though the series has been over or a while it still bothers me that his parents signed him up for the original Kizna system experiment, even if they might not have initially known the risks.

Nico is also totally an only child. Which is why she’s so excited when she becomes friends with the other kiznaivers because she doesn’t even have a sibling to bond with at home.

I could see Maki having a younger sibling but they’d probably have a bit of a strained relationship due to different interests and because Maki keeps a lot of things to herself. 

 Sonozaki is another only child for similar reasons as Nico. Remember tiny Noriko wanting her friends to stay with her forever? 

As for Hisomu... I literally have no idea. He’s a mystery to me.

do u have any headcanons on tenga's family/home life? like none of the parents in this anime seem to really exist but he straight up moved out for the summer and when chidori mentioned his parents he waved her off? so its a topic, they just didnt explore it? im just curious what others think, feel free to ignore this ^^

Hi give me a moment I’m hyperventilating because someone actually sent me an ask about my nerdy opinions

The lack of parents in this anime is something that I’ve been thinking about as I rewatch the series. To answer your question, I think Tenga’s family/home life is pretty similar to all the other Kiznaivers. Pretty non-existent. 

-Katsuhira’s parents work overseas. -Hisomu lives on his own. -Yuta mentions that his parents work all the time which is why he was able to eat what he wanted as a kid which led to his weight gain in childhood.-Nico mentions that her parents own a hospital so they’re likely busy all the time as well

We never hear what the deal is with Maki, Chidori or Sonozaki but they’re probably in the same boat. The kids are left on their own to deal with whatever happens in their lives.

Which makes their bond as Kiznaivers and as friends so touching to me because it’s like they made their own family and their own support group. None of them are alone anymore! They have people who care about them and look out for them!

Going back to Tenga for a bit, I know that when the show was initially airing the fandom really latched on to Tenga declaring that the “worst people in the world” were the ones who hurt kids and animals. Which the fandom interpreted as maybe Tenga coming from an abusive household.

Personally I don’t 100% endorse that theory but do find it interesting. 

I like the idea that Tenga might have younger siblings and maybe he came from a small town and is just living in the city for school (I’ve been rewatching “Your Name” a lot lately which got me thinking). Tenga definitely gives off the “Big Brother” vibe. He looks out for people and that’s one of the things I love about his character.  

Other than that I don’t have many other solid thoughts. Like you it drives me crazy that they skim over what could have been an interesting plot point, but given how short the series was they just didn’t have the time to get into it which is a SHAME.

This answer is a little all over the place but I hope it made some sense. And I love getting asks and writing down my thoughts about the series and characters so my ask box is always open if you or anyone else wants to throw something in! I’ll try and get to it as soon as I can!

I just...really love Chidori, okay? She doesn’t make fun of Tenga for being afraid of dogs (which is what he was probably expecting would happen). Instead she compliments him and tries to make him feel better after being outed by Sonozaki.

Hey not much of an ask-I just love your blog so much, amazing to find people who not only ship but write amazing headcanons!! (Btw, are you still active? cause it's been quite a while since I last saw a Tendori headcanon :/)

Aww thank you! Yeah, it's still active. I just haven't had time to sit down and write out some new headcanons. I'm rewatching Kiznaiver so I'm hoping to find some inspiration, or at least some cute/funny screenshots to post. Thank you for the ask!

I'd like to believe that even if Sonozaki hadn't restarted the Kiznaiver program, Tenga and Chidori still would have become friends and eventually fallen for each other.

I mean, in episode 1, Tenga saved Katsuhira from those bullies. Don't tell me, that after seeing that, Tenga wouldn't have befriend Katsuhira. Or at least started looking out for him.

And if he involves himself with Katsuhira, of course he'd also get to know Chidori. Chidori would be so suspicious in the beginning.

"Kacchan, he's bullying you right?"

But Katsuhira wouldn't really care and so their duo would become a trio. Tenga would start hanging out and staying over at Katsuhira's so often that Chidori would just assume they were together and make enough supper for both of them.

Eventually Chidori would stop calling Tenga "Kacchan's friend" and start referring to him as "My friend".

Once she got to know Tenga, she'd be secretly thankful that there was someone else looking out for her childhood friend. She was always worried that if she wasn't around, Katsuhira wouldn't take care of himself or he'd let himself get pushed around. She knew that if he was with Tenga, no one would mess with him.

And as they spent more time together, the more they'd start to open up. And after some time, they'd naturally start to fall in love with each other. It would take some time, but eventually it would happen.

I'm sure of it.

Tenga would 100% write a long mushy facebook post celebrating his 6 month relationship with Chidori. 

He’d use every cliché. “Everyday I’m thankful for having you in my life.” “You’re my best friend and I can’t imagine my life without you.” “I love you so much.”

Chidori is both embarrassed and touched because she feels the same way about him.

Crunchyroll is selling the complete Kiznaiver series on Bluray but it's 150-fucking-canadian dollars. And I know in my heart that that doesn't include shipping.

Imagine Tenga and Chidori sitting on the couch. They’re just hanging out, enjoying each other’s company. Chidori’s phone is plugged into a speaker and is running through some playlists she has queued up. She’s reading an old favourite book. Tenga’s on his phone scrolling through his dash. 

Then, softly, a new song begins to play. It’s an old song Chidori remembers her parents used to sing. A few verses into the song, in a voice that’s barely a whisper, Tenga starts to sing along. Chidori stops reading her book and stays perfectly still. Afraid that any noise might break the fragility of this moment. He’s slightly off-key and is by no means a professional singer but she wished she could listen to him forever. 

The song ends and Tenga goes quiet and Chidori goes back to her book. But she notices him looking at her out of the corner of his eye and she gives him a smile while makes him blush a little bit. She loves him so much.

Habits picked up from the other person:

Tenga habits Chidori adopted:

-Nicknames on her cell contacts. She used to just have each person listed as their actual name but after seeing some of the goofy names Tenga came up with for the other Kiznaivers she started nicknaming her closest friends.

-Going for walks in the morning. Tenga likes going out early when not a lot of people are out and about and Chidori joined him after they started dating. Now she looks forward to them and will go even if Tenga is busy or out of town.

-Finger pistols. Tenga does them so often that Chidori started doing them without noticing. She was legitimately surprised when someone pointed it out to her.

Chidori habits Tenga adopted:

-Ordering desserts at restaurants. Tenga used to just order the main meal but Chidori has such a sweet tooth that he would agree to split something for dessert. Now the meal just doesn’t seem complete without something sweet to finish it off.

-Organizing his sock drawer. Tenga made fun of her for this when he found out but she argued that she’d seen in online on one of those “life hack” posts and that it actually did save space. He organized his just to humor her and well dang yeah that actually does save space. (Chidori is a bit smug about being right)

-Listening to podcasts. Chidori introduced him to some of her favourites and now he listens to them on the bus, while doing homework and when he goes for walks. They have a few they listen to together.

Tenga and Chidori never know how long their dates will last because a “quick” coffee date can turn into an 8 hour walk around the city. They’re so caught up in talking to each other that time just flies by without them noticing.

July 12, 2017 Hey guys, I've been thinking of writing an actual multi-chaptered Tendori fanfic (which would be posted on this blog). I'm assuming some of you are more acquainted with the tagging system here on tumblr. Particularly tagging possible triggers. In the story I have planned, there will be mentions of self-harm and suicide. NOTE: I will never describe such events in detail. These events will have occurred prior to the main story and will only be mentioned in dialogue between characters. So my question is this: what tags should I be using and when (i.e every chapter or just the chapters with the specific mention)? Thank you all so much in advance! Here's hoping I can get this thing rolling soon!

It started out as a joke to freak out their friends and then it just kinda became a regular thing because damn do they both look good.

Tendori bedtime and morning headcanons

-Tenga showers at night because he likes that clean feeling of washing off the day’s stress and grime

-Chidori showers in the morning because it wakes her up and she feels more prepared to take on the day

-Chidori sleeps better with a white noise machine. Tenga’s pretty used to it but can sleep without it

-Tenga occasionally wakes up with a sore shoulder from Chidori snuggling all night

-Tenga is a morning person (surprisingly)

-Chidori forces herself to get up in the mornings

-Chidori is the type of person who has to set 2 alarms for herself to get up at the right time

-Tenga needs at least 8 hours of sleep. It doesn’t matter what time he went to bed at. 8 hours or murder. No compromises.

-there is a mutual agreement that snuggling/spooning is great, but if it’s super hot out minimum contact is preferred

-both snore but claim the other is louder

-Tenga is most likely to steal the blankets

-Chidori is most likely to get up in the middle of the night to pee
