girl typing a very specific question into google search bar, scrunching her face as she takes time to make sure she hasn't made any spelling errors, hitting enter, shaking her head as google only presents her with unhelpful websites that don't answer her query at all, moving her cursor back to the search bar and clicking on it so she can carefully write 'reddit' at the end, hitting enter again, sighing with relief as she finds a link to a reddit post asking the exact question she needed answered posted in a subreddit for a very niche topic, finally moving her cursor to click on the link, wondering why she didn't go straight to the subreddit earlier, only to be met with a deleted comment with a reply from the OP stating 'that was very helpful, thanks', sighing with frustration as she moves her cursor back to the search bar so she can copy the link and paste it into the wayback machine,

oh. things will never be the same and this is both devastating and inspiring. I can grieve and build anew. it will be scary and hopeful. I can let both feelings exist.

it’s both comforting and heartbreaking that over time you will slowly forget the little details of someone you once loved so deeply until their memory is just a hazy blur like a dream you once had and can’t quite remember anymore

i can't get over how evil it is that "gap in your resume" is considered a valid reason to not hire someone like "hmmm sorry you weren't working constantly every day of your life we need people who do nothing but work until they drop dead for us we just don't think you're right for the job" fuck youuuu

ANTI-CAPITALIST AFFIRMATIONS

i am allowed to spend my time creating things, even if they are not beautiful.

there is no such thing as a "real job." all forms of work are real and valid.

there is nothing that i need to accomplish to be worthy. i am already worthy.

doing nothing is good for my soul.

i am not defined by what i produce.

my worth cannot be measured by my paycheck, my job title, or a list of professional or academic achievements.

i do not need to monetize my hobbies, it is enough to spend time doing something i love.

i will not let society decide what success looks like. i can define what successful life looks like for me.

I hate the assumption that everything should be thrown away after it's served its intended purpose. why shouldn't I keep containers when I'm done using them? having empty 1 gallon jugs on hand after I run out of milk can be incredibly useful if I ever need to transport a lot of liquid. when I'm done with a jar of spaghetti sauce am I expected to just throw it out? it's a nice high quality glass jar, you can't stop me from repurposing it
