the commentary laced with criticism had not been intended to be an invitation to actually teach her himself.  but it was pretty clear that no one else was going to step up and do it.  she and carl were ultimately still treated like children when there was no time to do anything of the sort.  daryl let out a noisy sigh,  glancing away from her for a moment.  “y’er not gonna be able to drag around that thing if i do,”  he answered,  jutting his chin out to point to the battered doll still held in her hands.

     there isn't anything else she could think to do with her day      /      she and carl were probably just gonna play at a safe distance from the grown ups until it got dark and they were made to get some rest.      she likes it here      /      at this house,  on this farm.      she feels like they can be safe and happy here      --------      and suddenly being around daryl all day seems like a lot more fun than anything else.      she wants to be brave      /      maybe she can be brave with his help.      lips purse together as she glances down at the plush doll within her arms      /      she thinks it over for a moment before looking back up at him     (  under the impression they are doing this today  ),     "can you ----"      there's a short beat      /      sophia offers the doll out to him,      "put it somewhere safe for me ?"

          he should have known this would happen to him     /     it always does,  everyone either leaves him or goes crazy or… gets cancer    (  or all of the above  ).     he tries not to let his facial features give away that he’s actually a little hurt,     “did i….    do something ?”    he is curious,  after all.     /     @slcnisms

april wasn’t sure what specifically had possessed her into being bold enough to ask the question.  maybe it was just one of those things that happened when you nearly died,  being emboldened to do and say things that maybe would have been talked out of before.  he had been by her side so loyally and he had prayed for her.  jackson,  the atheist,  the man who she thought might never find or seek any comfort in her own god.  he had broken down and prayed.  it just felt like there was something more there,  something that perhaps the both of them had spent the past few weeks trying to deny.

yet there’s still something magical about hearing those words being said out loud,  words that she hadn’t heard from him in a long time.  not like that.  her fingers squeezed his.  “i love you too,  jackson,”  she murmured affectionately.  “you and all of our babies.  so much.”

          april is going to be in recovery for a few nights,  and even though he’s exhausted    (  physically,  mentally,  and especially emotionally  )     jackson can’t imagine leaving her now.     he almost lost her    --------    he did lose her   -------   and he doesn’t want to miss another moment with her     /      you never know how much time you have left with the people you love,  and jackson isn’t ever going to stop showing her how much he needs her in his life.    

          their hands haven’t been apart since before she miraculously woke up,  and he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about his prayer     /      he didn’t believe,  but this ?     this might actually change his mind and he hasn’t stopped thanking god for bringing her back to him.     she says the words back to him and he lifts her hand,  still intertwined with his own,  and presses a tender,  loving kiss to the back of it.     his free hand is gently placed upon her stomach,  caressing the bump over her hospital gown.     he doesn’t think about it      /      he leans down to rest his head lightly where is hand previously was,     “i don’t think i’ve ever been so scared     -----------     i don’t know what i would have done if i lost you     /     if i lost them....”

Do you love me? ( for amy - omg ignore the first please my phone autocorrected haha )

          there have been three words that amy hasn’t uttered yet,  and it’s not because she hasn’t thought about it     /     it isn’t because she doesn’t feel that way for him,  because she does.    she wouldn’t still be here if she didn’t.     she believes in him,  and she knows that he’s capable of good things.     it just hasn’t occurred to her to actually say the words,  for whatever reason     /     but she knows she proves it to him through her own actions,  and those were more powerful than her words could ever be   ——   in her opinion, at least.

          and as they lay there in the bed that they now share together at otto’s vacation house,  making it their newfound home,  she looks at him with well adjusted eyes through the darkness of the bedroom     /     she pushes up her weight and leans over him from her previous position where she had been lying beside him.     blonde tresses fall passed her collarbone,  stopping at his shoulder as they dangle over his bruised flesh.     she props her head up with her hand and uses her other to place against his chest,     “yeah….”     she finally answers,  now wishing she had said it earlier so he wouldn’t have even had to question it     /     the answer is followed by a faintly growing smile and a gentle nod of her head,     “yeah,  troy   ——-   i do love you.     i’m in love with you,  and i never thought that i would have the chance to feel like this, but….      i’m glad i get to feel it with you.”     /     @evcryhcrd

“Do you love me?” ( jackson )

          jackson doesn’t leave april’s room at all that night,  and even though meredith has said several times that the mother of his children is going to eventually be just fine,  he doesn’t want to leave her side     /     in fact,  this whole ordeal has made him realize that he never wants to leave her side again.     the thought of losing her forever,  actually holding her hand and thinking she might not ever wake up     /     thinking that he was going to lose the love of his life and his babies all at the same time     ———–     it was too much for him to bear.     life is short and time is precious and when the question leaves her lips,  he can’t tell her anything but the truth.

          “i do,”     he nods,  his hand is still linked with hers against the mattress of her hospital bed.     his tears stopped hours ago,  but the lump in his throat still exists.     he’s just so happy that she’s alive,  that she’s going to be okay,     “i love you so much,  april.”     /     @mcmachine​
