definitely still a work in progress but my living / dining room is coming along really nicely. none of this furniture was here like a month ago. we need more art on the walls, and lamps, and different dining chairs, but it’s so much nicer and more functional than it was!

are Palestinian citizens of "Israel" not allowed into bomb shelters based off zionist jewish supremacy, or is it that Palestinian villages haven't been given the funding / infrastructure to build adequate shelters? or both?
I wouldn't put it past Zionists to lock Palestinians out of bomb shelters if they lived among each other. But yes, the main issue facing Palestinian communities in historic Palestine is the discriminatory funding policies, where in fact, 60% of Palestinian communities don't have bomb shelters.
To demonstrate the disparities, take the example of towns with predominantly Jewish populations in Karmiel. These towns have 126 public shelters (one for every 375 residents), whereas in neighbouring "Arab" towns, there are only two public shelters, serving a combined population of approximately 30,000 people (or one shelter for every 15,000 residents.)
Then comes the issue of how Israel classifies land that is inhabited/farmed by Palestinians within historic Palestine. The state of Israel classifies these lands as "open areas", which means that their 200,000 residents (predominantly Bedouin) don't get any bomb shelters, no sirens, and the residents have reported that the iron dome isn't even activated over these areas.
So yes Israel is an apartheid state with disparities such as this, and at least 60 other laws that discriminate against the Palestinian population within it.

anyway i saw this insane pair of pumas in a curated thrift window yesterday and even if they would have fit me—they wouldn’t have— i’m wondering how acceptable it is to buy puma now that they’re no longer sponsoring the israeli football team. like that was a win but what’s the go with former bds targets? even though that wouldn’t really matter here since these were secondhand. and i already have a pair of secondhand pumas i love to wear. thrifting is so much better here than in sydney i never buy anything new any more

Mohammed just told me that his daughter Saba has meningitis and a dangerously high fever! She urgently needs medical attention, but food is becoming increasingly expensive, and Mohammed doesn't have the funds to pay for it.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I don't usually mention that I'm an nb lesbian on donation posts but atm, it's relevant. I have to replace groceries as mice have eaten/contaminated much of my food, I have 2 doctors I need to see ASAP (eye insurance renews July 1st & my psych refuses to renew certain meds w/out an appointment), in addition to general med costs, this is very financially strenuous for me.
Tumblr media
Med renewal w/ my psych is $210 & the eye dr is typically $235. I anticipate needing about $650 in financial assistance this month. I am extremely grateful & appreciative for all of the help I have received, thank you all so much! ❤️

“We experience the gaze of others as an evil eye not when it wants to penetrate our secrets and make them transparent (such a penetrating gaze is rather flattering and exciting)—but when it denies that we have any secrets, when it reduces us to what it sees and registers.”

been watching my frown lines come in for years and everyone used to be like “what frown lines!” but i had a really stressful couple of years and now they’re pretty undeniable. i used to get botox about it (what living in sydney will do to you) but now that i’m too broke for that kind of lifestyle i’m learning to appreciate them more. i never get assumed to be a child any more (esp now that i have facial hair too) and i think i actually look sexy. the only thing is i don’t want to come across as angry to people who don’t know me but i think my general kind of affect balances that out. everyone gets freaked out about visibly aging but it’s literally luck of the draw. i just started finasteride yesterday though i won’t pretend i’m not vain lol
