Knowing how Hades is in the show now it’ll be really funny to see him and Nico interact bc Nico will be all Dark and Depressed in the underworld and Hades will just be like “son… please… you’re killing the vibe”

Loving how everybody is jumping in the Toby Stephens train after his Poseidon performance. If you want so see more of him, watch Black Sails, he will emotionally destroy you in that one.

also I love that Grover gets separated from the kids and immediately starts playing mind games with a god. he's like finally I don't have to be a good role model for a second. let's talk brutality.

I am so happy that Percy is a criminal in live action as well. Does it serve anything to the plot? Doubtful. It does, however, serve in building Percy's reputation as a goddamn MENACE and I'm here for it

Grover: I know who stole the lightning bolt
Me, an omniscient being capable of foresight, prone to narration: he did not, actually, under any circumstances, know who stole the lightning bolt

the show is doing such a perfect job at representing all the gods; Ares being a Twitter troll, Dionysus pretending to be Percy’s dad for wine, Athena being a bitch and Hephaestus having empathy for the young heroes. The show may have some flaws but this dam sure ain’t one of them

it's the way they had annabeth tell percy "maybe she was preparing you" because he feels not ready for this world of the gods because sally didn't prepare him in the typical hero training in violence and strategy and backstabbing and how do you beat your opponent and thats how you win the world of the gods apparently.
but no. sally taught her son in empathy and stories and love and family and loyalty and solidarity and hold fast brave the storm that was meant to break us because WE ARE UNBREAKABLE AS LONG AS WE ARE TOGETHER and the fact that ANNABETH of all people is the one to recognize that SALLY had the RIGHT idea. that sally WAS preparing percy to question the systems around him and challenge the narratives of the gods
and its ANNABETH who says no. that deep understanding of empathy and care and friendship and love IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT THE NARRATIVES OF POWER AND VIOLENCE AND "THATS HOW THE WORLD WORKS" THAT IVE BEEN TAUGHT i need annabeth to meet sally

annabeth seeing percy as someone so good that she REJECTS the quest, REJECTS the gods JUST TO SAVE HIM LIKE HE WOULD SAVE HER. this made my stomach TWIST

The fact Annabeth didn't even pick up the shield but immediately started dismantling a god's magic device to save her friend Percy is making me all teary eyed.
He showed her that he loves unconditionally and she wants to learn how to do the same.

Annabeth has been told her entire life she needs to earn love and glory and respect. Her father neglected her and her mother makes her earn her love. She has been raised to believe she has to be the best or nothing at all. She was told love was conditional. And then she meets Percy and in less than a WEEK she is questioning her beliefs, the gods, and learning that other people can and will put her first. Percy jumped for her. Percy got in the chair for her. Percy sees her. There is no limit to how much they will do for each other.

Percy reassuring Annabeth that he’s ok while turning to gold because he’s always had someone there to reassure him and tell him it’s ok - while Annabeth never has. No one has ever been there to reassure her because the world she lives in isn’t one where things are ok. She had had to live with every death, every mistake, every sacrifice. In the short time they’ve been together, Percy has been the only one to show her there’s another way. She doesn’t have to shoulder the weight by herself. It’s ok.
Sally was Percy’s person and now he’s becoming Annabeth’s.

I really loved Hephaestus in this episode. Not just because I absolutely love Timothy Omundson as an actor but because he brought such a beautiful sensation of empathy and heartache to the episode. He was initially so resigned to the way of life of the gods, the way they backstab and are cruel to one another and their children. Even thinking Annabeth wouldn’t try to save Percy, he was kind enough to give her a way out so she could continue the quest, whereas any other god, even her mother, would have left her to figure it out on her own. And when she gave her speech and pointed out that caring about people was more important, it genuinely moved him. It speaks to so much of his character as someone who wants unconditional love and was denied it. And that was what, less than 5 minutes onscreen?? The writers and whoever cast him are BRILLIANT and they did so well with this.

i just want to know who thought of making the tunnel of love a dark creepy tunnel that gets lit up by gorgeous lights that tell the story of the rejection and abandonment of hepheastus while percy and annabeth look at each other and talk in quiet tones about the story and the stories percy's mom told him and that annabeth was indoctrinated into and meanwhile a song about love and pain is playing in the background and percy says he heard it in the orthodontist's office I JUST WANT TO TALK WITH THE WRITERS AND MAYBE EXAMINE THEIR BRAINS BECAUSE ?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!?1?

so grover tricking the literal god of war into an impromptu therapy session to get information wasn’t exactly on my Percy Jackson show bingo card but I’m certainly not complaining
