The image you shared beautifully showcases the stained glass windows of Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, one of the finest examples of medieval stained glass art. Built in the 13th century under King Louis IX, Sainte-Chapelle was designed to house precious Christian relics and to serve as a grand spiritual center. Its walls, nearly entirely replaced by towering stained glass panels, depict over 1,000 scenes from the Bible, illustrating a visual storybook for worshippers of the time. The history of stained glass dates back thousands of years, with early examples found in ancient Roman villas, but it reached new heights during the Gothic period. Craftsmen of the time perfected techniques to create luminous colors by adding metal oxides to molten glass. This allowed churches like Sainte-Chapelle to use stained glass not just for decoration but to transform natural light into a vibrant, almost mystical display, symbolizing divine presence. Even today, the windows of Sainte-Chapelle are revered for their intricate designs and the ethereal ambiance they create, capturing the devotion and artistic skill of the medieval period. As someone deeply interested in stained glass, I find these windows to be a powerful testament to how art can convey spirituality and history in profound ways.

Cape Flattery is on the northwest tip of Washington, where the land hits the ocean in a big, beautiful way. This winter, Iām going there solo to make a film for a festival. Iāll be out in the wild by myself, filming the cliffs, waves, and foggy forests. Winter makes it all moody and intense, which should look pretty cool on camera. My goal is to show people how amazing and quiet this place can be. Itās like nature turned up to eleven, and I want everyone to feel how powerful it is. Just you, the ocean, and the cliffs.

One of my favorite photographers, Paul Nicklen, captured an incredible shot titled āPropulsionā. Taken in 2011 in Antarcticaās Ross Sea, the photo showcases emperor penguins gliding gracefully through the icy waters. Nicklen explained that these penguins release millions of microscopic bubbles from their feathers, reducing water friction and allowing them to shoot through the ocean like bullets. I get regular emails about his expeditions and new discoveries, along with stunning images that never fail to amaze me. If you havenāt explored his work yet, I highly recommend it. Itās truly breathtaking.

This is a photo taken by Richard Tuschman. I first saw Richardās work when I visited the AIPAD in New York when I was little. I then later revisited his work as a teen when taking a photo class in school. His work makes me feel like the feeling you get when you are about to watch a really good movie. He has a very cinematic style that I inspire to have. This picture looks like a combination of the camera observe and the color filter work we did for class. It also looks like a screenshot from a scary movie. With all of his work you can imagine what the movie would look like if Richard was to make a movie about the picture. I really like that fantasy you get to make when looking at his work and one day I hope I can make a fantasy for someone with my photos.

My topic for my color walk was how America has changed from earlier times. One of the images that showed the growth was this one. Since green and plants are symbols of growth, I made it a point to take pictures of whatever greenery I came across on the way to each flag. I went from one really patriotic-looking flag to a different one during my color walk. That was bundled up and landed up against a fence. Looking through the pictures, it would have been simpler to start with the folded-up flag and have the focus be to walk through the vibrant foliage to get the Patriotic flag. That looked good and proud hanging on the wall. However, the unfortunate truth is that our America today is not very proud. That is why I made the folded up flag last.

This picture is a very special moment in my photography career because it is the first picture I ever took with a digital camera. This picture symbolizes growth and resilience to me because of the way the small paint is growing to the top of the fence. I remember being drawn to the contrast between the vibrant green leaves and the rustic texture of the fence, which tells its own story of time and weathering. Taking this picture ignited my passion for photography, allowing me to appreciate the beauty in everyday moments. It serves as a nostalgic reminder of the beginning of my journey in capturing the world through a lens.

This a picture by Andreas Weith. This photo depicts, a starving and depressed looking polar bear. I first saw this photo when I was doing my senior essay for high school. We were told to pick a top story that is happening in the world right now. I was very bored with this topic and I was carelessly searching for topics to write about, and I scrolled upon world events, and nothing was catching my eye until I saw this photo of this poor polar bear. I have always loved animals and when I saw this picture, my heart broke. I clicked on the article and read about the willow project. If you donāt know anything about the willow project, thereās a project where they are drilling oil in Alaska and itās killing the environment. This polar bear is the result of the willow Project. Usually, when you think of a polar bear, you think of a nice fluffy white bear. This senior project which I thought was just something that I need to get out of the way really made me think about our environment and how we need to protect it. It truly started my journey of wildlife photography because without this photo, I wouldāve never clicked on this article and I never wouldāve understood the problems that are going on with our climate. One day I hope I can take a photo of an animal or an event and make someone feel something and inflict change.

This picture was taken for my grandma. She is very patriotic and served in the military for most of her ļæ¼youth. She had just moved into her new house and said she wanted me to take some pictures for the living room. She didnāt tell me what to take pictures of but I had already known that it was going to be American themed and very patriotic. When I showed her the pictures she fell in love with this picture. I told her that it reminded me of a firework and I knew her favorite holiday is four of July. She loved it so much that she not only put it in her living room but in her bedroom and bathroom. I love photography more and more every day that I can make someone smile because of my work.

This photo holds a special place in my heart. It was my first college assignment for Photo 1, taken with a camera my mom gifted me. Her belief in my passion for photography gave me the confidence to pursue this art form. The picture captures a serene moment: a small bird perched on a feeder, set against a beautifully blurred background. Itās a symbol of patience and stillness, qualities Iām learning to embrace as a photographer. Every time I look at this image, it reminds me of my momās support and how much this journey means to both of us.

This is a photo of my grandmother's motorcycle boots. My grandmother is a fascinating lady. As you can see by the motorcycle boots, she is not your typical grandmother. She is one of my favorite subjects to photograph. I never know what I'm going to get with her; the day I took this picture, she was telling me about how she beat this guy at pool at the Happy Cow (her favorite bar) and won $1,000 because he thought my grandmother was just an older lady. She stated he was worse than my 8-year-old cousin. My grandmother showed him and then took all his drinking money. I snapped a picture of her boots because I was thinking how foolish it would be to go up against a grandmother wearing motorcycle boots. Clearly, she is not your typical grandmother who sits at home and watches the wheel of fortune all day. She is the type of granny that takes all of your money and doesn't care.
