Icarus Wings of A Boy That Killed Adolescence - My contribution for the @gunplagirlgang buildoff. Inspired by the gold, melting skull of @jackofthedust . . This was an idea I had on the back burner for a while and am glad I got to finally experiment with it. He didn't turn out perfectly, but the blemishes work...and it was a ton of fun getting to take a heat gun to a pile of plastic. I'd do a couple things differently, but this was a fun build to learn from and get to share alongside the rest of the GGG! Needed a really expressive hand for my Wing for the #gunplagirlgang build off. My friend Jeremy warned me about the possibility of the Wild Hand joints being too small for the MG Wing polycaps. He was right, but I improvised. 😉 I removed the female polycap in the wrist for room, used a spare polycap from a Petitgguy on the male hand polycap, then pushed the improvised ball joint into the socket. Volia! Thank you everyone who came by the stream last night to kick off our Bluefin Builds! We snapped together the 1/144 Falcon - Lando Calrissian Ver. from @bluefinbrands (or would that be a Ver.Cal? 😜) It is an extremely well thought out kit; Able to be snapped together in one sitting, come with TWO sets of decals (green sticker & waterslides), the clear parts you don't have to worry about as anything you snip off/could leave a mark on gets hidden, barely any worry some nubs (though the hull has some thick ones), great option parts, has its own stand. BUT my favorite part? The instructions have a little "CHECK" panel after each completed section. These little checkpoints felt like little gold stars on my homework. Made me feel accomplished and were incredibly encouraging unlike the laundry list of instructions we're used to. It made all the difference in getting this kit snap-fit in a couple hours. .
