Sofie smiled “Really, my doctor told me the blood tests and the urine test I took showed and by my levels he thought eleven weeks.”

“Eleven weeks?”

Sofie didn’t say a word, took his free hand and put it on her abdomen smiling up at him.

It took a minute to register. “Wait...really?”

Sofie smiled “You’re so cute.” she said putting her hand on his cheek softly “Yes, it’s pretty exciting, well to me.”

“What is it?”

“I don’t mind whatever she wants to eat, she’s her own little person.” Sofie said “I might have some news for you.”

“I might give her all my secrets then.” He raised his eyebrow. “News?”

“I never liked pickles until I got pregnant with her, so must be your genes.” Sofie laughed “Yes, my love.”

“At least she is not dipping it in barbecue sauce.” He smiled. ”Any special reason?”

Sofie giggled “So that’s why I craved pickles all my pregnancy, you like pickles.” she said tickling her daughter a bit “I’ll get you two some pickles and then I’m making daddy’s favorite for dinner.” 

“She gets it from me. I used to drink the juice and call it medicine.” He shrugged. “Really? Chicken and rice?”

“You have mommy’s permission.” Sofie said “Now I’m gonna start dinner, do you two want a little snack before dinner?”

“Pickles.” She asked, looking between her parents

Sofie smiled “Did you see her eyes light up? She’s like yeah, daddy, I’ll go with you, I’ll help you work.”

Dom kissed her head. “We need mommy’s permission.”

Sofie giggled “She has been asking for you all day long ‘where’s daddy? daddy home? i call daddy?” she said “She’s such a perfect daddy’s girl.”

Dom laughed. “I might just take you to work then Belle.”

Dom came home for work fairly early and was met with his door running towards him. He picked her up. “I don’t know what I’ll do when you get older and grow out of this.”
