What you need to stop doing to increase your productivity at work
What you need to stop doing to increase your productivity at work
But, a lot of digital marketers already utilised online work.
Working remotely has advantages and disadvantages. The biggest difficulty is productivity. Working remotely has always been difficult in terms of productivity. At home, there are distractions that don't exist at office. Distractions that don't exist at home may also be present at work. People stopping by your desk to chat, water cooler conversations, unplanned meetings, and an open-plan office environment are all examples of distractions that can reduce productivity. No matter where you work, you can feel overloaded and struggle to be productive
Here are a few things you can go without in order to increase your productivity at work.
Diversion
Diversions can be a problem when working in an office or from home. Your surrounds, such as housework, your own television, or your coworkers at the office, may distract you. Even though technology is meant to increase productivity, it may often cause distractions. For instance, a meeting reminder appeared on screen while working.
Reminders for meetings are probably a required diversion. However, is it really necessary for you to be informed each time you receive an email or a Teams chat? Probably not.
It helps greatly to disable pointless notifications to cut down on distractions and increase productivity. Only the notifications that are extremely necessary should be enabled; the rest should be muted or turned off. Try different things and choose what fits you the best.
Multitasking
Each of us has experienced some form to the attraction to check our emails or conversations while on a Video conference. It's simple to jump over to Outlook and start reading, especially given that so many meetings take place virtually rather than face-to-face.
Avoid multitasking if you can. While you might believe that multitasking increases productivity, it does not. Make every attempt to focus entirely on the meeting. In this manner, you can concentrate on any tasks and deliverables that may be assigned to you.
Ask to be excused from a meeting if you find yourself there by chance. or refuse the meeting request. It's fine to save your time. Refuse to attend meetings unless you absolutely need.
Constantly working
With so much to do, so many meetings, and so many people calling and emailing, you it might be difficult to take a break. Try it anyhow.
Short breaks increase productivity and let you approach your current tasks with fresh perspectives. Take a few quick walks during the day. If possible, just go out. Clearing the head is helped by movement and fresh air.
If you are not able to leave your desk and go for a walk, at least get up from it. Walk through the areas of your home or office. If you have stairs, use them. Get your heart pumping. Also, be sure to take lunch breaks. Because we stress that spending 20 minutes to eat will cause let us go behind, many of us work through lunch. Grab a bite to eat and eat it fully while taking a break, even if it's only for a few minutes.
Consistent work
Do you regularly find yourself doing the same task week after week or day after day? Any digital marketer's routine includes regularly getting reports, analyzing budget progress, and data analysis.
But if you see that you are doing repeated tasks, try reducing it.
Many of us do not realize that we can produce automated reports from practically any tool we use to assess performance, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, analytics systems, bid management tools, and so on.
Use them. Reacting to a report that is already in your email is so much simpler than having to start over each time.
One more advice: if you aren't already using Google Ads, now is the time to start.
Using this, you may automate repetitive tasks and save a lot more time.
Using social media at work
Yes, social media is where we all get our news. Probably a social media link led you to this article.
Social media has existed in the SEO and SEM fields long before it was given that name. the early version of SEO forums, where people from the industry met to converse, share news, and ask questions. But, regularly checking social media kills productivity.
Set times to check Instagram instead of leaving it open all day. Maybe you just look at your feed in the morning, during lunch, and right before you log off at night.
Just don't spend the entire day there. You'll discover that you're a lot more productive.
Pressure on yourself
We are all very judgmental on ourselves. It is in our nature.
How often do you think yourself "I should be able to do all this! Why am I facing problems? Try to be patient with yourself. Regarding how much you can do in a day, be practical.
To help you focus, ask your supervisor. Also, let them know in advance how long it will take you to finish everything on the schedule.
If you must use your personal phone for business email, disable notifications and avoid using the work email apps after hours. The morning would bring the notifications.
It's never life or death in search engine marketing. Most problems can wait until the next day, except in the case of situations like a website going down.
Self-doubt
Dealing with self-doubt goes hand in hand with placing pressure on yourself. Your director believed you could perform the responsibilities of the position for which you were hired. So, unless you created your qualifications, have faith in yourself!
You are able to finish this. Having confidence not only helps you work more productively but also makes clients feel ease. No one is counting on you to understand every answer. Do not hesitate; simply state that you will follow this up.
Greater productivity provides excellent results.
Hope you can use some of these productive ideas at work.

Google Helpful Content Update is currently rolling out
Watch your Google visibility over the next week or so because it may take a couple weeks for the update to roll out.
Google’s helpful content update ranks as a page indicator. It targets websites with an unusually large volume of poor or useless content that is written keeping search engines in mind first.
In other words, did you create that content to help users or to rank on Google?
Google Search is always working to provide users with more relevant results. In order to achieve this, Google introduce the "Helpful Content Update," which is a component of a larger initiative to make sure users see more helpful, original information created by people, for people, in search results.
Google announced the "August 2022 Helpful Content Update" on its update page on August 25. Up to two weeks may go before the rollout is finished.
Google quietly began rolling out this Helpful Content update on the morning of August 25. When this update has finished rolling out, Google will notify us.
In a week or two, the update should have completed rolling out. Google advised us to visit the search updates website as well for information on when this change would be fully implemented.
According to Google, the new Helpful Content Update focuses on "content that seems to have been written purely for ranking well in search engines rather than to help or inform people." This upgrade attempts to make it easier for users to discover "high-quality content."
Google wants to promote and reward better content that is more useful to users and written with human beings in mind.
Search Engine Optimized (SEO) content, also known as "Search Engine First Content," is a problem that keeps coming up on social media and other sites. In other words, searchers are growing dissatisfied with coming across websites that do not help them but still perform well in search since those websites were created to perform well.
This algorithm attempts to boost user websites above search engines while lowering those types of websites.
If there are any significant ranking or visibility changes in Google search over the coming days, you can probably relate them to this update. Read Google's suggestions, implement the required corrections, and wait for a recovery in the following months.
This helpful content update is nothing new. It's nothing new to update this beneficial content. Google has consistently recommended content creators to create content not for search engines but for people for more than a year.
These content creators are now referred to by Google as "People-First Content Creators." This shows that they provide content with a focus on providing answers or solutions to what people are looking for.
Google provided 6 questions to determine whether a website is on the right path for website owners who want to know if their content will survive this most recent roll-out.
1. Does your company or website have a target audience that would find the valuable content if they came to you directly?
2. Does your content show first-hand experience and depth of understanding (for example, experience gained by utilizing a product or service or visiting to a specific location)?
3. Does your website have a main goal or point of focus?
4. Will someone who reads your content believe they have learnt enough about a topic to assist in achieving their goal?
5. Will someone who reads your article will accomplish your results?
6. Are you considering our recommendations for fundamental updates and product reviews?
If the website owner's answers to each of these questions are yes, Google stated that they shouldn't really be concerned as the Helpful Content Update is being applied.
Google stated that for websites that will be negatively impacted, the effect could last for months.
We hope that this update is helpful to you all.
It might not be true if you control websites with a lot of low-quality content and believe that removal of it now will protect you from Google's Helpful Content Update.
Google has officially started rolling out update, and by the time of the rollout, Google will be able to recognize changes made to your website involving the removal of low-quality content, even when done on a big scale.
Don't forget to mention that while these efforts are being made to cooperate with Google's Helpful Content Update, they do not guarantee protection from upcoming updates. However, removing low quality content now will ensure that they will be quickly recovered and will be scrubbed.
We will discuss about Google's Helpful Content Update in this article, including its benefits to your company and its necessity.
