evaluation
During this term I had created a comic book page and a dreadful pie which turned out much better than I had expected it to but as for how I created them was a tedious process well more of the pie was the longest to do.
The pie I had chosen to create was that of a human face with an eye missing and their mouth open to give the effect when the person was murdered they were kicking and screaming to escape from the murderous pie maker that has only one goal to kill those who did them wrong. Although there were some issues that came with creating the actual pie itself was trying to work around the super sculpey not sticking to the tinfoil pie cases and to get the stretched face effect also took a while to get as I wanted it to look realistic with the blood leaking out the open cuts.
The pie was the only project that didn't use much to create as the main things I had was the super sculpey a knife tool and paints that I mixed up to get this beige/orange colour once that had been achieved I was able to fully focus on it making it the best it could be.
As for the comic book page I started it by hand drawing it before I scanned it in and continued it's development on the computer which sounds easy but when it came down to colouring it a new problem came up where the colour was not staying where I wanted it to be before I found another way around it by making boxes around each frame before I used a brush and did the colouring in zigzags with lined paper behind it making it look fully done on paper like how most art is done but doing it this way was my best shot getting it done on time so the comic could be completed in time.
Overall for this term a lot was done in such a small amount of time but fairly spaced out but I do think I could've done much more but for the next term I want to do better

pattern overlay
In my opinion i think the one without the overlay works much better than the one with the overlay but i don't completely hate it as it reminds me of the old style of the early comic books that were made before comics became a big thing as they are today.

how to layout a comic book page
A comic book page should be laid out in a z shape for easy an easy flow from start to end which should be easy for the reader to follow but you maybe asking what needs to happen in between for the end of the page to make sense.
A comic book page needs to have dialogue between the characters that are in the panel for something such as a fight the dialogue needs to includes exclamation marks to show the character yelling at each other while the text boxes usually used for fights are less smooth and are more pointy than the more common smooth circular ones you see very often in comics.
Comic books such as the walking dead has lots of action and fights happening between the characters which leads to conflict amongst the group as some fights last one page or even more depending on how far the writers and illustrators want to drag it out for and the fight needs to have mind boxes showing what one character is feeling without actually talking.
The flow is not natural as it doesn't give any context as to why we are seeing these two characters on a bus which will give the reader a harder time to tell what's going on as the two characters don't interact at all which is confusing to give two characters a whole page where literally nothing happens at all.

Independent Development
During the comic book project my goal was to finish the number for the page I was given about the downfall of sweeny todd on how he slowly lost his sanity and had descended into murdering anyone who entered his shop who came for a hair cut.
The main issue I had for the comic was the colouring part as I had started it by doing hand drawn before uploading it to the computer for the rest to be done digitally since my other problem was is that I can't draw well on a computer so I worked around it by doing it by hand first which worked out well enough to where I was happy with it.
However my third and final problem I had was that the colour would not stay in the boundaries of where I wanted it which was proving difficult but I was taught another way around it which worked out well as for the final touches a lined bit of paper was added behind it to make it look like it was always drawn on paper.
Final Outcome
Overall the project was a success where I had ended up with an outcome I was pleased with but if I had to improve I'd say next time I would try and do it all on the computer so I could avoid all the Issues I had during this project.

Comic Artist Research:
Dan Hipp:
The art style here lacks in any other colour while still looking cool while they are mocking the X-men in this comic as the character designs ressemble that of marvel's x-men such as wolverine.
Kei Zama:
The art style kei uses here is cool from the amount of detail he includes within each panel showing and telling us what exactly is going on and what the characters are feeling as in the picture here a character has been stabbed while he has a facial expression to show that he is in a great deal of pain from it.

discuss the use of water colour, do you think this works in comics?
Personally i don't think water colours work well in comics as i prefer them done in the traditional way where its not as dull because the water colour when wet may make it look cool but the process would take longer because you would want to avoid the water colour from going on any of the other panels around the one you coloured.
Joelle Jones
She has a similar style of that to ben where the colours are dull and moody while keeping the characters body somewhat of normal proportions which is what i like in comics where the artist has a moody setting while not needing to over stretch anything for a creepy factor.
