at lunch break so these thoughts are not well-formulated, but: famous people are always going to disappoint you due to the fact that they are human and imperfect and their lives are Extremely Documented. this does not mean “well i guess i can stan that person who has done things that ought to put them in jail because nObOdY’s peRFeCt!” but what it does mean is that searching for an “unproblematic” individual to parasocially put all your hopes and dreams on is Going to end badly.
at some point they will (at best) post something on their insta story or respond to an interview question in a poorly worded way… and what then? will you go and search for a new Perfect person to decorate with godhood and then burn at the stake when their moment of weakness comes? or will you accept that these literally Just Some Guys who happen to be talented and acknowledge the human capacity to sometimes suck a little that is in everyone? can you live in a world where you don’t make men into idols?
