“There is no Pride for some of us without liberation for ALL of us” - Marsha P. Johnson
These past few weeks have been painful for all of us, more so for Black people than any other community. Celebrating anything right now, let alone Pride, might make you feel guilty or uncomfortable, but it’s more important than ever to have these discussions. Pride is more than a parade or a celebration. The spirit of Pride stems from protesting for equal rights.
The first Pride was a revolution ignited by the participants in the Stonewall uprising fighting back against police brutality. Black and brown trans women have always been at the forefront in the battle for LGBTQIA+ rights, with Marsha P. Johnson, Miss Major Griffin-Gracey, Storme DeLarverie, and Sylvia Rivera emerging as prominent activists. With that in mind, it’s important we use Pride month as an opportunity to amplify Black and brown voices and fight racism within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Not everyone is able to take to the streets in protest or has money to donate, but there are still ways the Tumblr community can unite and make a difference. That’s why we created #ActsofPride, an action list for this Pride month.
We hope these prompts offer you an opportunity to learn, reflect, speak out, spark conversations at home, to lift up our Black and brown peers, to experience Pride through an intersectional lens. Think of this as a nurturing space for self-expression. Or use it to reflect upon how Pride’s revolutionary history can drive a future where the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies commit to keeping this fight and conversation going on a daily basis and not just when it dominates the headlines.
Take care of yourself, look out for your friends, make your voice heard, and most importantly, have a happy Pride!

Due to current world events, you may be experiencing depression or severe anxiety. If that’s the case, I am sorry. You are not alone, and you DO matter, even though you may not feel that way right now.

Izuku x reader (Soulmate au)
(I haven’t written Headcanons before so...let’s try this 😅)
•••••••••
In this Au soulmates are connected by red string (that is on their non-dominant hand)
•••••••••
This adorable sweetie-bless his heart-had thought you never wanted to meet a “quirkless loser”, so he never tried to find you.
Shortly after becoming All Might’s apprentice he now focused on being the #1 Hero, if not for his idol, then for you.
Izuku was coming home from UA when he felt a tug at the crimson string, it was only a light tug but soon it quickly became a tight yanking of the string.
Now soulmates could tug at the string and for many people it was a nervous habit. So to feel a sharp pull at his pinky usually meant either of two things, either you were in danger or you were close by and were actively searching for him. Both made his heart race for different reasons.
He tugged back. Sharp tugs from the other end of the string was all that was returned. He quickly followed the string, turning and running in your direction. Were you were in danger?!
As he was running he heard a scream in an ally...right where his string led him. God he hoped it wasn’t you.
He ran in the ally because even if it wasn’t you he needed to help this person! Hearing another scream
Following the sound, he panicked when more muffled whispers of attempted screams and someone fighting back were heard.
When he rounded the corner he saw...you on the ground...alone.
He would’ve looked for the person who did this to you but...it was you and not to mention you were bleeding...from where he didn’t know (nor did he want to really)
So he quickly gathered your body into his arms and ran to the nearest hospital.
The doctors assured him that you would be fine but would need to stay in the hospital so they could focus on your concussion and you other wounds.
When you awoke you saw him...the connection clicked fully into place...in the bright light of the hospital he looked like an angel “Am I in heaven?” (He flushed a deep pink at that)
You cried tears of joy seeing your soulmate was actually alive (in my Au the string could lead to their dead body) (Morbid...I know)
Over the few days you were in the hospital you both got to know each other.
Your soulmate...is so ADORABLE!
When he told you he was an aspiring hero you weren’t surprised really, I mean he immediately followed the string to you!
Speaking of the string...you didn’t notice but the string was...a dark green?
When you asked him about it he told you his string was (insert favorite color here).
Odd but okay 👌
When you were discharged from the hospital he took you to your house (the hospital had already called you parents)
Before he left you gave him a goodbye kiss and gave him your number
call me, hero~ ;)
He got home and fainted in his mother’s arms
You started dating two weeks afterward
He’s so glad he didn’t ignore you’re pleas for help. He doesn’t know what he would’ve done if he tried following the string and was lead to a cemetery’s gravestone later down the road.
•••••••••
I changed a couple things and made my writing a little better (and longer!)

The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women of colour like Marsha P. Johnson paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can.Hey! Better yet, reblog this version:
Extensive BLM Google doc including places to donate to, education resources, etc
List of 75 things white people can do right now
Simple way to donate to the cause if you have no money to

In case anyone needs to hear this today:
Drawing fanart DOESN’T make you any less of an artist.
Writing fanfiction DOESN’T make you any less of a writer.
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Your work is important.
