Hey, I used to think of Halt as a father figure as well (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about) and that has changed SO much. I have made so many thirst posts about him and I'm so in love with him and want to marry him so it's fine.

Maturing is just changing from wanting him as a dad to wanting him as a husband

An actual friendly reminder that at the begining of the lost stories when it's in the 1800s, it never actually specifically says that Halt and Will and Gilan and all the others actually died. It just says theyre legends and and the corps is gone, but not that they are.

So that clearly means that Flanny is implying that they are actually immortal and they are just doing something else and they are actually real and right now they've probably got some secret spy job or something and working with guns and bombs and they're working on blowing up the white house.

Halt has created his own new aesthetic and that is simply "Halt".

Or "sexy ranger". That is his style.

I started to think about "is Halt goth?" Topic that somehow happened to be around me and... I don't think he is. I see him more like a punk. Maybe some weird mix. It's just... I think punk suit him better. He's just an anarchist who hate goverment and all... It's just him. Also I know... I know what I will say it can be... Controversial. But... I don't think Halt would be a goth becouse he wouldn't want to spend that much time choosing his outfit, doing makeup and all... Like this man in canon doesn't even brush his hair. And it's not a joke. He canonicly look like homeless man. So most likely he wouldn't be or goth or punk. He would be the "I look like a homeless man" guy.

But! He definetly still have his emo part in his heart. He maybe not wear it but still listen to music and all. Like, it's an lifestyle guys.

When I first started reading rangers Apprentice when I was like 9 or 10 or something I remembered I found spoilers online and one of the things I got spoilt was Halt being a prince and another thing was for some reason someone said he died??

Who the fuck said that. How dare you scare little kid me like that. I remember going to school the next day and the first thing I said to my friend was "I just found out Halt DIES???"

She had to put up with me talking about that even though she didn't care about Rangers and the only reason she knew anything about it was because during break we would play make believe games and my character would always be Halt. And for some reason I made him an alcoholic.

Which heartless monster would lie about such a tragedy like that

I think one of the only times I cried while reading Rangers Apprentice was in one of trr books when Halt was rescuing Will and Maddie from the castle and ziplining them down and when Maddie met up with him she hugged him and I cried because I wanted to hug him so bad

I was thinking about Izzy Hands from OFMD and how fucked up I was emotionally after his death and how much I cried and how much I still cry and it's been two years since that episode came out and I'm still not okay and hes only my second fav fictional character of all time.

Halt's my first. By far. He is never getting knocked off that pedestal. The day I love a character more than him is the day I get possessed and am no longer myself. (And even tho he's my biggest character obession he's not my number 1 obsession.) I genuinely, honest to god, don't know how I would be able to cope if Flanny killed him off. When the latest royal ranger book got released I was stressing and counting down to the days when I could buy the book and so scared that that was going to be the one where he died and I would be writing in my school books over and over again "he better not die" as a way to cope with the stress of it and to manifest and when I bought the book I was reading it on the bus ride home and genuinely felt a bit sick from the fear. I had to skim through it to see if he was even in it and when I saw he wasn't I just hoped that Flanny wouldn't pull some bullshit like "Halt had died a while back" like he did with Crowley.

I was reading eragon a while back and when my fav died even tho I knew it was going to happen I still needed like a days break from the book to emotionally recover. If Halt died in a book I don't think I'd be able to finish it. At least not on the first time through.

I don't even know why I'm saying this I was just thinking about Izzy and started thinking of Halt and started almost crying by thinking of his death.

Flanny I don't care if it was "important to the plot" if you kill him I will hunt you down and make you rewrite the book plus another few tey books to make up for it.

It would have been so easy for Halt to have just. Never found Will. Ever.

Halt and Daniel didn't know each other. All Halt got from him was a) his name and b) the fact he had a wife and child back home who needed looking after. Halt learned this while he himself was concussed btw.

It would have been so easy for him to have woken up in the medical tent and just have. Forgotten. Or remembered, but gone "eh, my head hurts. That's a problem for another day" or even think "Daniel's dead now anyway, not like he can find out if I break my promise" BUT HE DIDN'T!!! Bro literally just got off the battlefield, went on a wild goose-chase trying to find out where this Sargent who saved his life came from, battle a group of bandits, and tried to save Will's mother's life. And when he couldn't do that, he thought long and hard about what to do with Will so he would be happiest.

Speaking of, I want to point out that Halt chose to hand him over to the ward not because he didn't want the responsibility of raising a child, but because he knew Will would forever be isolated if he was known as the ranger's kid. He just wanted Will to be happy from day one and it's all because of one promise he made to one man I am going insane sdfdjhasidufhiia

Halt gets nightmares and that's pretty much been agreed on and probably canon at this point, but may I propose and idea.

What if they're not nightmares about trauma, they're just random nightmares. Like you know how if you have a nightmare and it's just a random creature or just something completely random but still scary? Like what if his nightmares were just like that majority of the time. Nothing about Morgie or Protchards death or Ferris or Will dying or anything like that just something like a shadow creature in all fours crawling over the walls and chasing him down a hallway and trying to eat him or something

Or something that wouldn't even be scary normally but for some reason because it's nightmare form and that makes it so much scarier.
