I think the reason that nonbinary people choose “weird” names is because it’s easier to identify with a word that hasn’t been given any gendered context, rather than picking one that is in the ever changing realm of androgyny. So, more traditional names like Rylee, Alex, Max, Terry, and others deemed to be gender neutral get pushed aside because it’s either Alex in a boy kind of way or Alex in a girl kind of way and people usually just default to your assigned gender at birth. However names like Teeth, Socks, Meat, and Off are a lot harder to assign a gender to since they’ve never been used as names at all. We invented language for ourselves when the world didn’t, and we chose our names to be completely original and personal. It’s beautiful really, it reflects the unique experience of disregarding a system that limits you. And I love that.

Fellow epileptics, I have some fantastic news for you. There’s an add-on that makes the internet safer for us. It’s called Epilepsy Blocker. The creator had me test it out, give feedback, he made adjustments, and it works great. It may even help those with migraine disorders that are triggered by the same thing that messes with those of use with photosensitive epilepsy (mine is a case of being absurdly sensitive).
This is the only add-on I’ve encountered made specifically for those of us with epilepsy. It’s not a well known add-on, but I hope to see that change.

Y'know what, fuck this bullshit. I need to know y'all are actually against it.
Reblog this if you will NOT use or support Post+.
I hope to make @staff see how that is total bullshit. Tumblr will die without writers/creators.

Something I remember very clearly about Coraline was reading it in school. I’d say we were all 12/13 at the time and my class was given an opportunity to summarise the book for the supply teacher (who had only seen the film). Everyone except for me described the book as “coraline, the brave adventurer finds a hidden world that mirrors her own and she has to explore it while the other mother wants to make her stay forever”… Then we got to my description “coraline, is a terrifying story in which a neglected child is shown an opportunity of a better life however using her wits she discovers that the world she is proposed is far more terrifying than back at home, but her new ‘mother’ doesn’t want her to leave.” (something along those lines). Essentially, I described it in a way that suggests it’s scary.
The class, teacher and all, then tried to convince me it’s an adventure book not a horror story. In the end I got forced to sit next door for arguing back about how it has both features of adventure and horror. I even picked up the book, flicked through pages and pointed parts out to prove it but my entire class just groaned at me. Neil, confirm for me (though you have many times): Coraline CAN be a very scary story.
It can absolutely be a very scary story.
