I headcanon Devo as ace/aro mostly because “he’s just like me for real” but also because it subtly adds to his narrative function as the ‘nonbeliever’ and the ‘heretic’. Look at this guy! He’s got no ties left, and he was born after the world’s already ended. He even rejected the power the Parish would have anointed him.

Yet, you’ll never see another showing so much devotion to serving Founder’s Wake or with so much hope for a better future.

He’s rejected all societal norms, but never gave up on society
