YOU AND LUCAS always had a mutual understanding that he could take care of himself on that rusted scrap metal he called a bike so it was a shock to him that you were bringing up a topic like this at lunch.
“Yeah I don’t really wanna keep you from whatever this cult is” you grimaced as you motioned to his friends all mostly wearing the same shirts “but mom says I have to drive you home after school.”
“But I rode my bike here” Lucas always had a way of making you think harder than you needed to.
“I don’t know we’ll put it in the truck or something” you shrugged this whole interaction was far to much and it didn’t help that you were stood at their table for far to long.
Your chat with your brother didn’t go unnoticed by Eddie. Once he saw you his jaw slacked he had never seen a girl as beautiful as yourself. He wanted to speak to you so he waited for the right time to interject. “If I may fair maiden,” who was this mullet wearing weirdo and why was he speaking in DND to you right now? “I could keep Lucas’s bike in my safe hands so when he returns to school it will be in it’s best condition.”
“Really you’d do that” Lucas gawked at the man
Eddie sent him glare almost as if he didn’t want Lucas talking to him while he was in the mist of wooing his sister.
“I guess it’s fine by me if it’s fine by Lucas” you looked down to your brother as did Eddie Lucas said nothing as he nodded in agreement “well I guess it’s settled thank you…”
“Eddie.”
“As in ‘the freak’ Munson?” “Among many other things” he smiled. You didn’t know how you felt about holding out a conversation with him for so long but his banter just kept flowing and you seriously didn’t know how to stop it, an off button maybe?
“Tell me Sinclair maiden why haven’t I seen you around before?”
Lucas looked to his friends in confusion them shrugging as they watched their cult leader display an unbeknownst affection toward you.
“We have like three classes together” you deadpanned it wasn’t uncommon for you to not be noticed it wasn’t like you didn’t try you hardest to be invisible.
“Ah, yes ‘Cherry bomb’ by ‘the runaways’ was it?” Eddie recalled. Of course he was referring to the time he got you busted by stating that you were so obviously listening to music and no students of such experience should be punished to listen to the teacher drone on and on.
“I’m sorry why are we talking about my music taste?” you were confused how your conversation with your brother jumped from one with his DND master.
“Well something so good should be shared with the world” he yelled theatrically. You were quick to pull his hands back down to his sides and put a finger against his mouth.
People around the lunch room stood with confused stares and you wanted more than ever to just crawl in a whole and die.
pushing your glasses up you looked behind the presumed Atheist “I’ll see you after school” you nodded to your brother.
“And I will see you tomorrow when I bring your brother’s bike back in tip-top shape” Eddie now stood above Lucas holding his shoulders with a widened smile.
“Oh how will I ever repay you” you rolled your eyes sarcastically. Eddie seemed to not pick up on any of it as he looked down at you.
“Tutor me” he blurted out. Eddie didn’t actually want you to tutor him he just wanted to get you alone knowing that would be the best way for you to see he wasn’t some devil worshiping creep.
You let out a thoughtful huff, you’d be lying if you said this whole conversation didn’t intrigue you and hey, you had nothing better else to do.
“Fine, tomorrow after school” with that you walked away leaving Eddie to celebrate his victory ignoring your brothers slacked jaw and wide eyes.
Eddie Munson drove a hard bargain.
