MEET "THE ASTRAL VISIONARY"

MY ONE-SENTENCE PITCH: "A cartoon isekai into Roger Dean-style landscapes." Follow Seymour Scarry, a young college student who despite being stuck in the current millennium is helplessly obsessed with 1970s progressive rock. Elitist? You bet! Feels as though he was born in the wrong generation! Look no further than his purposeful "old man" style. Pretentious? Highly. Seymour (green-tinted glasses guy) possesses the unique ability to open portals to and from a dimension that parallels his real life, a dimension called the "Somewhere," made up Roger Deanesque landscapes and where the entrancing sound of pure progressive rock plays endlessly around you, coming from every direction at once. In Seymour's attempt to convert every person he meets into a fellow enjoyer of the genre, he spirits them away to the Somewhere to show them the beauty of his favorite kind of music. When in the Somewhere, he assumes the knightly form, "the Astral Visionary," as well as unparalleled stamina for running and jumping around floating islands, inland seas, and vast stretches of unobstructed grassland. Seymour's dormmates Oliver (big hair guy) and Lucius (piercings guy) serve as his best friends and, as Seymour personally sees it, his loyal sidekicks. Sidekicks who try to ruin his day sometimes as they attempt to involve him in more socially healthy activities.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With the right help, perhaps someday this can be fully realized in its intended animated form. Currently, the project's overarching themes and narrative direction are planned out, as well as the necessary worldbuilding elements, and Seymour's character is essentially fully realized, however supporting characters such as Oliver and Lucius, despite being similarly fully realized in the thematic and metaphorical department, lack the necessary "spice" to make, well, fun and interesting to watch get up to various hijinks or interact with others.

Currently, there are no co-writers, voice actors, nor musicians/composers helping me with this project, however I am willing to do all of the art, storyboarding, and animation myself.

This is not intended to be anything huge or even necessarily impressive, just a passion project I would like to see realized in some imperfect, but completed form. I fully expect it to be rough around the edges and thoroughly indie.
