/Due to Jax's good behavior following Gangle's transformation, The Entity decided to give Jax his gift: his old friend Ribbit!

//Ribbit's appearance is mostly similar to their appearance before they abstracted, though there are some noticeable differences. Like Jax, they have some more animalistic features, the most notable of these being their frog-like hands and feet with webbed toes. Their body also has patterning like a Blue Poison Dart Frog, although they are more green in coloration. Their face and head are relatively unchanged, though their eyes do turn pitch-black when they're stressed or angered.

//Personality-wise, Ribbit is rather standoffish and can be somewhat aggressive at times, and they're also a prankster. However, they are also very kind towards their close friends, especially Jax. They are also very protective of Jax, and they are the only one in the Circus (aside from Caine and The Entity) that will stand up to Gangle.

//Ribbit is non-binary in my AU due to their canon gender being unknown.

The non-canon characters

Zauthiel: He looks like the regular humanoid depiction of an angel, but with pale gray skin, wings over most of his face like the humanoid depictions of a seraphim, and six large slightly tattered wings. All of his wings also have multiple eyes, including the two over his face. His halo is a deep red color, the same color as human blood. He has bloody tear-marks down his face, and the eyes on his actual face glow with a blinding holy light when the miniature wings that cover them are moved away. His weapon of choice is a large bloodied halberd. He is an actual angel of God, who somehow got trapped in the digital world (most likely through the trickery of a demon), and now he is desperate to escape (and also save all the humans trapped in the digital world with him). He is by far the most ancient of the characters in the AU, having been around since the time of Moses in the Bible. He is (unsurprisingly) fervently religious, but he does not use his religion to justify hate, and instead he spreads love and compassion whenever possible. He speaks multiple languages, but the main languages he speaks are English, Hebrew, Arabic, and Latin. He speaks English while around the rest of the cast, but he speaks Hebrew when he prays every morning and evening. He prefers to pray alone where no one has to overhear him. Zauthiel is roughly 15 feet tall and has a 40 foot wingspan.

Maria: Maria is a player whose model is a very large spider-like creature. Her body is mostly similar in shape to the body of a huntsman spider, but she has longer and more robust limbs, a somewhat human-like head and neck instead of a spider face, and an abdomen that resembles a flower. Her body is roughly 18 feet long, and her legs are all thirty feet long. Her head has eight dark red eyes and a spider-like mouth with two large fangs. Her limbs and pedipalps all end in four-fingered hands. Her hands are square-shaped, with her fingers being on the corners of her hands. Her body is mostly black with white fur on her torso and limbs, but her abdomen is covered in large, dark red petals with yellow tips that resemble the petals of a sunflower. When her petals are closed, they give her abdomen a scaled appearance, and when they are open, the end of her abdomen is visible. The end of her abdomen contains her silk glands, which allow her to make webs. Maria is 36 years old, and she came to the Circus just before Kaufmo. She is very protective of Kaufmo, and will attack anyone who gets too close to him. Her avatar originally looked more like a human, but she had it changed to its current appearance after the Entity brought Kaufmo back. Before being stuck in the Circus, she was an arachnologist who loved spiders, hence why she asked the Entity to turn her into one.

Mannie: A blue mannequin that looks like one of those human-like clothing store mannequins combined with the regular mannequin NPCs. He wears a shirt with a large pin on it that says NPC, so Caine doesn't mistake him for a human or delete him. He's got five fully-functional fingers on each hand, instead of the weird hands the other mannequin NPCs have, and he also has a cartoonish but still somewhat human-like face. His face resembles a slightly more masculine version of Pomni's face with smaller eyes, a nose, and no hair. His eyes are similar to Pomni's eyes, though they are brown with black pupils. He feels anxious when he's around the human characters, and he feels extremely anxious whenever he's around Caine. He's most comfortable around Gangle, Zooble, or other NPCs. He wears a simple white short-sleeved shirt, black pants, and simple black dress shoes, unless he is going on an adventure where he needs a different outfit. He gets a slight stutter whenever he's stressed or nervous, and he often fidgets with his hands. Mannie knows he's an NPC, and it makes him depressed. He's terrified of Caine deleting him, which is why he's super nervous around Caine. He was originally made to just be a non-human playtester, but he gained sentience soon after the first human arrived in the circus. He has several hobbies, including sewing, crafting, and cooking. If he's pushed past a certain point emotionally, he'll snap and become aggressive. Otherwise, he is extremely non-confrontational. He has a moderately strong British accent, though he doesn't act like the stereotypical British man.

Canon characters appearances/personality

The official appearances and personality of every canon character in the AU (except for Gangle's appearance of course, since she already has a thing for that). Before the Entity arrived, everyone looked like their canon counterpart, but after the Entity gave everyone their gifts, their appearances all changed. All the major NPCs were also given artificial souls by the Entity, except for The Fudge and Theodore Mildenhall.

THE PLAYERS:

Pomni: Everyone's favorite jester is mostly identical in design to her canon appearance. However, there are some changes. Most notably, she has ears, albeit small and very simple ones, that are usually hidden by her hair. Her outfit also has some changes, with it now having actual pants covering her legs and a slightly more frilly appearance (similar to Carnival!Pomni). She can also remove her hat, gloves, and shoes, and she has a full head of short brown hair. Pomni's personality is also rather similar to that of her canon counterpart, though she is much more closely bonded to Ragatha, and she's not quite as skittish as she can be in canon.

Ragatha: Like Pomni, Ragatha is also relatively similar in appearance to her canon counterpart. Like Pomni, she has small ears, though her ears look more like two small semi-circle shaped pieces of skin-tone fabric stitched onto the sides of her head. Her skin in general is more fabric-like in texture and appearance, making her look more like the ragdoll she resembles. Personality-wise, she's much more worrisome than canon Ragatha, and she has some PTSD from when previous Circus members abstracted.

Gangle: Her personality is the most drastically different from her canon counterpart (not counting the NPC characters). She is confident, self-sufficient, and overall a true 'girlboss' type character.

Zooble: As stated in their part of the 'Extra Lore' segment, Zooble has multiple bodies they can choose from. Most of these bodies (aside from the one they have in canon) are relatively human-like, with the main one Zooble uses being almost entirely human-like aside from its coloration (it's mostly made of muted pastel colors). Personality-wise, they're nearly identical to their canon counterpart, although they are very attached to Gangle and will happily do just about anything she wants (within reason)

Jax: Jax is very different from his canon counterpart, both in personality and appearance. His appearance is far more rabbit-like than cartoon-like, with pale purple paw-pads and inner ears, a more rabbit-like face with whiskers, digitigrade legs, a small fluffy tail, and small claws on his digits. His body is also mostly covered in fur, with lighter-colored fur on his chest and darker-colored fur on the rest of his body. He has several scars from various injuries across his body, most notably on his ears and chest. The largest of these scars is along his torso, and it was caused by Gangle tearing into him with her teeth. Personality-wise, Jax is much more skittish and fearful than his canon self, and he will run if he hears Gangle's voice or the rustling of her ribbons. He also rarely plays pranks anymore, and when he does, they're completely harmless and meant to make the "victim" laugh. He only really feels safe when he's alone, and he will often hide in Kinger's old pillow fort.

Kinger: Kinger is not too different from his canon appearance, though his robe now has sleeves, making his arms "visible" in a sense. He also has a slightly more imposing figure with visible musculature beneath his robe, making him a bit more menacing to look at. He also wears a small gold crown around the little thing on his head. Personality-wise, he's much more put-together and capable than his canon counterpart, mostly due to Queenie being back. He's still a kind and loving person, especially to his wife, and he acts as a mentor figure for most of the younger circus members.

Queenie: Queenie is similar to Kinger in general body shape, though her robe does not have sleeves, and her body is ever-so-slightly feminine in shape. Instead of sleeves, she wears long black lace gloves that reach her shoulders, and her fingers are tipped with wicked-looking claws. Like her husband Kinger, she wears a small crown on her head, though her crown is made of silver instead of gold. Her robe is quite ornate, with long butterfly-like "wings" of fabric coming out of the back of the collar. Queenie can control these wings, and while she can't use them to fly, she can use them as a shield. Her "wings" are also multicolored like the eyes of an abstracted player, giving them a striking appearance when they are unfurled. Queenie's personality is similar to that of Kinger, though she can be slightly hot-headed on occasion and does not tolerate anyone trying to hurt her hubby.

Kaufmo: Kaufmo is only vaguely similar in appearance to his pre-abstracted self. He now has small claws and a slightly more animalistic appearance with a more human-like head shape. His eyes are also similar to the eyes of an abstracted player, though they do not glow as brightly and they are rather small in comparison to his face. He also has sharp, almost shark-like teeth, and he has a small red nose. Like Pomni and Ragatha, he also has ears, though his ears are far more elf-like and pointed. All four of his limbs have a black gradient on them that goes to the fingertips, and his claws are also completely black. He no longer wears a clown outfit, and instead wears a more "biker dude" looking outfit, with a pastel red shirt, black jeans with dark blue patches, dark red sneakers, a dark green biker jacket with shoulder spikes, a backwards baseball cap, and fingerless gloves with built-in brass knuckles. Kaufmo's personality is rather rough and cold, but he does have a soft side, and he never causes harm unless he has to.

THE NPCS:

Caine: Caine's appearance is mostly unchanged, though he now has a silver right upper canine tooth, and his teeth are now more like actual human teeth (albeit still cartoonish-looking). His personality, however, is quite different, as he is now genuinely kind and understanding, and he will never force a player to go on an adventure they don't want to participate in.

Bubble: He's the same basically, he's just a bit more blueish in color.

Gloink Queen: Her appearance is mostly unchanged, though she does have two identical-looking arms and legs just behind each mouth, and she also has a row of triangular ridges down her backside. Personality-wise she is unchanged.

Princess Loolilalu: Her appearance is vastly different from canon due to her fending off The Fudge after the events of Episode 2. She has lost her left arm below the elbow, and she wears a green rock candy prosthetic to replace it. Her dress is also burnt and torn, a chunk of her candy hair is missing, and her right eye is damaged but still semi-functional. She constantly carries a spiked lollipop mace with her for defense. Personality-wise, she is vengeful and aggressive, and will attack anyone who has had contact with The Fudge. However, she does not remember Gummigoo, Max, or Chad, and as such she does not try to kill them.

Gummigoo, Max, and Chad: The Gummy-Gators are relatively unchanged from their canon appearances, though they all now wear personalized jackets and pants, and Gummigoo has a candy cane pistol. They are also basically unchanged personality-wise, though Gummigoo is actually close friends with Pomni, due to his artificial soul containing his memories of her.

Martha Mildenhall: Martha Mildenhall is basically unchanged from her canon appearance, with the only addition to her being a mouth and nose, thereby giving her a much more human appearance. Personality-wise, she is unchanged.

Ghostly: Ghostly now moreso resembles a ghostly human child than a vaguely child-shaped blob. His voice is also more childish. His personality reflects his child-like nature, as he is inquisitive, has a heart of gold, and wouldn't hurt a fly.

Orbsman: He is nearly unchanged from his canon appearance, except for now having fingers and proper feet. His personality is unchanged.
