So i gave a speech in speech class today pretty much talking about how SexEd in schools should be talking more about body positivity and one's comfort in their sexuality and all that jazz. in my speech i talked about how sex was a normal and natural thing and that teens shouldn't be pressured into waiting for marriage or until they're 18 (as is the law where i live), so after my speech i ask if anyone has any questions and the first thing i heard was "you say that we should be teaching kids that it's okay to have sex before marriage. i don't agree with that. and why would you ever want to encourage kids to have sex at all" at no point did i ever say i wanted kids to be having all of the sex. She completely missed the point of my speech and it was so hard to argue with her without loosing my cool (thankfully some friends backed me up) my only concern is, i had a part in my speech about how SexEd should be teaching about gay/lesbian/trans forms of protection, i wonder what this girl thought of that topic XD
